Another hard core game, another special edition. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia will be releasing soon for the Nintendo Ds in a regular and special edition. However, this special edition will be a Japan-only exclusive: http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=206532
Yes, that leather bound edition is as sexy as it looks. Of course, theres still a chance that with enough begging Konami could bring this stateside. But as of now, you can only order it thru Konami's Japanese web store.

$80? That's the price 360 and PS3 special editions go for. I love Castlevania as much as the next guy but, gee wiz, talk about a gouge.

Yup. It's nice. Just not $80 nice. Importing costs will bump that up considerably as well. I'll stick with my US $30ish copy.

You know, as hot as that is, I still think the Portrait of Ruin pre-order bonus tops it.

Let's see if the game is any good first.

What makes this a "hard core" game?

I don't know if you guys ever bought japanese LE DS games, they usually run for $80(nothing new), while limited editions of games for ps2/360/ps3 usually hit $100 price.
but then again games in Japan cost more overall, ds games are going for about $45-50(4,800 yens), so there you go.

I like how he says "SEALED" yet, there is a pic of the contents without an explanation as to how. Yes, he could be using pictures of others, but he doesn't mention that either. eBay auction + Stock photos = bad sale or seller. He's hiding something... Maybe he considers Velcro closures a seal? LOL
Please, resume. The OoE JPN limited IS very nice. If only it was less cost prohibitive. Damn, I'm spoiled. ;)

I don't think you're spoiled just for expecting something like this to cost less. A lot of things are "nice" but not exactly worth the premium price. Calling the gouge for what it is isn't so much spoiled as it is frugal (in the good sense).
Now who's gonna take the bets that a bunch of these end up on Ebay with a BIN of $120+?
