Thats right, you can play Street Fighter 4 the way it was meant to be played---in the arcade. All you have to do is be a member of Southern California or some other location close by: http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=206533

Seeing as I live on the other side of the country, I won't get to experience this. But if any of you do, please let me know how it plays.

There are plenty of youtube video's that show the arcade version being played.

All the arcades near me suck so there is no chance of getting it here.

A guy on Shoryuken has reported that the game is already in a SoCal arcade called Super Arcade, they somehow got ahold of two boards (You have to buy a proprietary cabinet, as far as I know the boards are not sold alone) and put them in some junky old cabinets. And left doesn't work on the 1P joystick.

YOu need two board to play VS Mode, which means 11K for SFIV.

Lets see: should I get a new car or a Street Fighter IV cabinet? Decisions decisions. And thanks for the info about the Philly machine DreamTR, but unfortunately I have no way of getting there either. But it's cool because this game should be out later this year or early next year at the latest.

YES!!!!! University Pinball! I only go to school 10 blocks from this joint. Sweet, all of my friends have mixed feelings about SF4 and now we can all form our own opinions. :D

I'd love to have a go on the arcade version, but I was unable to attend Battle of Destiny in London.

Capcom and Taito really are having a laugh with this though. As DreamTR said, the international version of SFIV requires two Taito Type X2 boards for two player. The official kit is a pair of X2 boards and a pair of Taito Vewlix (32" 720p LCD) cabs with 1L6B panels. Afaik, they're only selling in multiples of two.

Methinks I'll wait for the PlayStation3 version. I only hope that in this wondrous age of downloadable content, any tweaks to the arcade version are offered to home users as free patches. I'm sure Dan and Fei-Long will be added to the arcade version in a future upgrade (SFIVTurbo?), but I hope other tweaks/bugfixes/characters are available to all versions: Arcade, PS3, 360 and PC. That way everyone's finally going to be playing the same 'arcade perfect' version of the game.

I have a bunch of machines on location, and probably the best fighting game arcade in Tennessee for sure, but there's such a huge lack of people that play fighters here competitively that it's a risk even to get something big and assured to make money like Tekken 6.
