My new book Invading Spaces: A Beginner's Guide to Collecting Arcade Games has finally arrived. The book debuted last weekend at OVGE and so far everybody who has looked at it has enjoyed it!

Invading Spaces is exactly what it sounds like -- a beginner's guide to buying, selling, moving, repairing, troubleshooting, and collecting arcade games. The book is 170+ pages and includes several dozen photographs.

Signed copies of the book are $20, including shipping (US) and tax. If you are interested in ordering you can drop me a PM here or simply visit the website (http://www.robohara.com/InvadingSpaces) and use the PayPal links there. The website also has a mailing address for those who prefer paying via Money Order, Checks, or Cash.

I will be out of town 8/18-8/22. Any orders that come in before 8/16 around 5pm or so will go out that same day.

Cool RJ, let me know when it arrives. Due to a miscommunication between the wife and I the first batch of books went out via media mail. I think yours went out in the second batch which (like all other orders from here on) will be first class.

I need to update the original post, but if you are interested in both of my books (Commodork and Invading Spaces) and order them both at the same time I will knock $5 off the price.

Heh, got it in the mail (1st class) yest. & read it all night at work. Really couldnt put it down, actually. At first I thought "$20 for this?" as it seemed a little small. But before you tell me all the work/cost/time it takes to make a book, it turned out to be well worth the money! Barring a few very minor printing(?) errors I'm very impressed. I'm not really even interested in collecting arcade games (& less so now that I see how much work's involved- more than I care to do! ;)) but the book's a very entertaining & engrossing read. & your humorous writing style in places was appropriate, not forced- that is, I LAUGHED at the funny stuff.

I do wonder how your wife & kids are affected by the hobby- & pls dont give me the usual "they're very understanding" response! From the book I get the idea you're often away from home (work/traveling/auctions etc) & I know your wife helps you but does she ever want you around more? That may be too personal to answer, but I always get the feeling my wife wants me to spend more time w/ her & my boys than playing video games (which is basically my only hobby/outlet).

Also, how much time per day do you spend on your hobby? 45 min? 6 hrs? Every/any chance you get? Again, my wife wouldn't like it much if I were out in the garage all day. & are you known around town as "that weird guy that likes old games", or are you considered to have the coolest backyard in town?

I recommend this book to anyone even remotely interested in arcade or video games. Thumbs way up, Rob!

Just wanted to bump this and let you all know that there are about 20 copies left from the initial run. Books are still $20 which includes priority shipping in the US. For anyone wanting a copy of Commodork at the same time I'm still offering both for $35 (again, that includes priority shipping within the US). All books are signed.

I've posted a few reviews on the book's web page and, like Commodork, you can read the first chapter for free online to see what you think.

Flack, if you could remember could you sign the copy to my brother Matt? If not, no big deal. I sent payment from mrmark0673@yahoo.com

Flack's book (and arcade setup) are the main reasons I've started building up my collection. Free bumpage (I guess for the second time :D).
