Hello. I recently bought a Sega cdx in near mint shape. Anyways.... the button that releases the tray lid sometimes sticks down so the lid won't stay shut. This is not a huge problem because all you need to do is press the botton once or twice and it unsticks itself. Since I'm kind of picky about my collection, is there a way to fix this without taking it all apart? Any info/idea's would be great...thanks.

Without taking it apart? Probably not. My CDX has the exact same problem. When I open the lid, I just stick my finger in the hole that the latch goes in and press on it to pop the button back out.

Mine does the EXACT same thing too. Was this a common problem with CDX? It's kind of annoying but it doesn't bother me enough to make me try and take it apart and fix it. I'd probably screw it up worse... LOL

Mine does the same thing. No biggie. And I agree, I'd be worried that I'd knock something else loose and hurt it more by trying to fix this issue.

I agree with you guys...I removed the bottom cover of the cdx and then realized that it would require de-soldering and re-soldering....looks like more work and mostly more risk then I want to take with a system that looks like new and functions well other then that one problem. I was hoping for a simply solution. Oh well...thanks for the replys. @_@

Yeah, I've taken apart my N64 to fix the reset button from sticking, but I'm sure the CDX is a whole different animal. I haven't ever really been comfortable taking apart CD based systems.
