I just recieved a new set of AV cables for the Sega Saturn that I bought a few days ago.
Sadly, my Insignia television will not pick it up no matter what the cables are plugged into.
Component, S-Video, Component port #2, nothing. It will not even display through the AV adaptor port that I have for my other AV machines.
It works on everyone else's televisions, including an HD flat-panel in my brother's room.
(Oddly, my Dreamcast, GC, PS2, PS1, and Wii work fine with every port on my Insignia.)

Anyway, I have come to the conclusion that I may have hope if it can connect to my DirecTV box. Obviously, it does nothing when I plug it in.

So, how do I set-up my box to display my Sega Saturn and other game systems?

As far as I know, set top boxes do not allow you to go in the out door.

As in, they're output only.

That is a weird compatibility issue there. You sure the cables aren't just screwy? You're talking about a cable that has component and svideo output? Do the composite cables work?

Yeah, the cable works.
The Insignia television is just really screwy, so I blame the problem on it.
Did you know that it cannot even display my Super Nintendo?
Strangely, my N64 works.

Anyway, I remembered the old TV in the big basement room.
It works on it perfectly, so I suppose I will just have to deal with my Saturn not being in my room.
I'm glad that it will only be across the hall, though.
