I've had some very odd issues with my Dreamcast and I was wondering if anyone else has ever had any of these problems.

The problem is.... my Dreamcast, for some random reason, will just refuse to load a game. I bought my first DC on launch day and played it into oblivion, literally. So, I bought another DC in 2001 and was far more careful with it. Well, one day I popped in Crazy Taxi, which I had purchased brand new. The game started to load and then, it went back to the DC start-up menu. The game disc was perfectly fine, but everytime I tried to play it, I would always experience the same problem.

I replaced the Crazy Taxi disc with a new one and that game worked fine! Well, a few months later, when I tried to play UFC, the same problem occurred again. I replaced that disc also and the new one worked just fine. Keep in mind that my discs are all brand new and perfectly dust and scratch free. This DC ended up getting crushed under a piece of my entertainment center (it was a freak accident), so I bought a new, modified DC off of Lik-Sang (RIP) in 2005 and it brought much happiness into my life.

Maybe about a month ago, I had the urge to play a DC game. I popped in Cannon Spike and...... the same exact f'n problem happened again. The damn disc is in perfect condition and I was the only owner. All of my other games work just fine. This is really irritating, to say the least. I'm not replacing the game this time either, due to the fact that Cannon Spike is awfully overpriced wherever I've seen it. Has anyone else ever had this problem and would anybody know how to fix it?

GDROM drive sounds like it needs a laser re-adjustment

That's a possibility, but like I mentioned earlier, all of my other games work just fine on the system.

i'd still give it a try. it wont hurt to give it a small adjustment. ive had to do it before to get a dreamcast to read games

I remember a few DC games being defective.

I had to get my Sonic Adventure game replaced like 5 times before I got one that played through...

Yeah, I remember that. Spent the launch day trying to find a working copy of Sonic. But this problem is more about a working game deciding that it doesn't want to play anymore :bad-words:
