Intelligent Qube at a local flea market for $2, complete.

Only part that sucked was that I couldn't buy it today because 1) The store was closing when I found it, and 2) It was one of those weird places that don't take credit cards (remember those places?). Considering the area, I don't think it's in any risk of disappearing tomorrow before I get to it though, but I did hide it just a bit for some reassurance:D

Still, I couldn't believe it when I saw it, especially after seeing the eBay prices for the game.

Really, you didn't have two bucks on you? A lot of thrift stores in my area are cash-only, so I guess I'm used to that.

I'm one of those guys who tends to only carry a credit card. Nearly every store in my area accepts them now (even other thrift stores I've been to) so it did catch me off-guard.

In the future, I'd recommend having some cash on hand for situations like these. I don't even remember the last time I paid for anything at a thrift with plastic.

Yeah, definitely. Though in my defense, I didn't go out with the intention of stopping at the store, I was actually on my way back home from a dentist appointment and was like "I'll just see what this place has real quick". Never expected to find a deal like that, especially since the previous booth I went in before that was someone trying to sell Mortal Kombat on Genesis for $12. But yeah, the agenda for tomorrow is:

1) Go to work
2) Go to ATM, get cash
3) Go to store
4) Purchase game, maybe get a better look (I was kinda rushed out since I was the only one in the store when they closed) and see if any other deals are buried around there.

I was amazed yesterday at a flea market. The vendor I talked to actually knew quite a bit about classic gaming. And it was your typical heavy set Southern woman flea market vendor. She was awesome and I look forward to checking out some deals with her in the future. Closest to a deal she had was a Jaguar game, and it was common. Just cool because I never see them in my area.

Why didn't you ask them to hang onto it?

I think most reasonable places would hang onto something like that, especially for only a day.

At a flea? They'll just look it up and re-price it to $50

I never carry cash either, it's not so surprising IMO. I pay for everything with my debit card, it's just much more convenient I think.

I agree with that, except when it comes to flea markets/thrift shops.

The flea-markets around here wouldn't do that, really. I've asked them to hold things, with luck. However, the "vendors" are usually not present.

Aaaaaaaaand success! Went back today, and there the game was, just waiting for me, still marked at that ever-so-lovely $2 price point. Checked out the store for more deals, unfortunately the rest of what I found gaming-wise was common and overpriced.

But I'm happy now :D

its funny because my brother found a copy of inteligent qube for $5 at a convienience store out of all places. He rubbed it in my face and then ended up giving it to me for my Bday.

I always carry cash with me. I rarely use my credit card. At a flea market and such, one should always have cash, including lots of singles, which make haggling so much easier.
