You're starting to look like Sega did towards the end of the Genny's lifespan - there were so many different versions of the Genesis/MD on the market, it pissed of alot of Sega's fan base and retailers.

I imagine Sony expect people to start using the video rental service when it comes to Europe early next year and also the PlayTV PVR.

However, considering the PS3 uses a standard 2.5" SATA HDD as opposed to Microsoft's proprietary Xbox 360 HDD, I'm sure there are much better ways of handling the situation instead of releasing multiple confusing SKUs.

It'd also be helpful if every store selling PS3s had a huge neon sign stating 'No, these PlayStation3s WON'T play your PS2 games.'

In all fairness - Microsoft also has a few too many SKUs on the 360 front.
