I was thinking of getting an Genesis and a Sega CD to play some of the USA only Sega CD games, and were wondering if my European hookups (powersupply and rf unit) would work with the US version?
If that would work it would save me the grief of getting a stepdown converter and all that. Anyone know if it works?

The european adapters will work fine.

I'd avoid using a European AC adapter with a US machine. The voltage difference could result in a fried system.

It should not fry the system should it? Since the powersupply is not built in but it in the cord, it should work perfectly. It's like using a European charger on my Jap DS or my european powersupply on my NTSC N64.
Saturn and Playstation on the other hand, that has the powersupply built in, would be fried if I used a regular norwegian powercord on them.

Yes, a Euro power supply of correct output volts / amps will work perfectly.
Provided that the INPUT matches your country's power system, the OUTPUT is all that matters to the console.
