Wel I replaced it just fine, but still having issues with games that were known to be working. Cleaned the connectors with some alcohol and q-tip and still nada. Even the ones that are working it can be 50/50 on if they will work when I pull em out. Cleaned the connector on the system before I hooked the new one on as well. Any suggestions?

Disabling the lock out chip will eliminate blinking altogether if that is the issue, I've done it to a bunch of my systems. There are a bunch of tutorials on the web that you should find without much trouble.

Flash grey ya most of the time it would do that when it would not read a cart.

If connectors are dirty, connectors are dirty - you'll still have problems, disabled or not.

Think is though I have cleaned the connectors on the cart and where I connected the new connector, so kind of at a loss atm, I figure I will play around more with it on my next day off.

may be a bad pinset. depending on where you got em, they might be bad. most companies will send new ones or give you credit based on high failure rate.
