Hi Everyone (especially TG-16 experts),
I have a Turbo Duo and recently acquired a few games that I think may need the arcade card or some other card to get them working, becuase I get some weird error in one game that there's not enough memory to run the game and another game's error says (the only japanese that I can make out) something about an akedokado (arcade card).
I always thought the TurboDuo required no further upgrades to play all games? Was I wrong?
Also, if I am wrong, which card should I get to not have worry about upgrading it again (what's the best card to get)? Or will I need certain cards for certain situations?
Thanks so much, everyone!
Yours,
Rob
The Duo has the Super System 3.0 Card built in, which lets it play Super CDs. Info on Super System cards:

However, there was an Arcade Card released later on in Japan. Only a few dozen games support it, and IMO none are too notable. (One, however, is one of the most expensive titles on the system -- a vertical shooter called Sapphire.)
Anyway, if you want to play an Arcade Card game and have an American Duo, you'll need both an Arcade Card and a HuCard adapter (the AC is a Japanese HuCard, so...). There are two versions of the AC -- Duo and Pro. Since you have a Duo, you want the Duo AC. The Pro is for upgrading older NEC systems.

You'll need an Arcade Card Duo to play Arcade Card games. You can tell if it's an Arcade Card only game because it will have a little triangular Arcade Card symbol in orange on the cover. The Arcade Card only games don't say Super CD-Rom 2 on them, the Arcade Card compatible ones that don't need it have both symbols.
If it doesn't REQUIRE an arcade card, then that message says you need to free up some internal memory to play the game. Delete some internal saves.
If you DO need an Arcade Card Duo, I have a pristine mint spare for $30!
Just PM me!
