Has any one ever seen this Vectrex? The seller claims it has the special "Starship"-Logo. I´ve seen a lot of Vectrex Consoles, had a european (german MB Version) with many! games for several years. I´ve seen also some versions from other countries.
But never this thing as listed below. Is it really a special release to promote the game Starship.... like the ebay-offer "somehow" implies or is it just a fan-made graffiti? :-)

Edit: to me the real Star Ship Logo of the Vectrex cartridge "Star Ship" looked totally different. Therefore I´m so sceptical!

It's probably one of those very limited runs like the Vectrex Mini-Arcade or something.

Hard to say. I've never heard of this Vectrex before, but then, I don't know a whole lot about the system. If it is fan made, it looks like a great job.

I bet that Mayhem or Vetrexer will shed some light pretty quickly.

Never seen this before... I'd have to default to Chris here to confirm. Me suspects a home made job here but you never know...

I seriously think its a homemade paint job. I never saw this vectrex before. But either way, it still looks sick.

That looks pretty sweet. I've never heard of this type of Vectrex, But it may very well be a rare variant. It almost looks too good to be a paint mod.

Look at the controller, to get a paint job that neat round the buttons he would have had to take the sticker off. Also those metal bars added to the front they arent standard issue either, looks too good all round to be a home made job.
But saying that i have seen some very talented peoples work so nothings impossible.

Muddling through the German...The seller's not necessarily saying it came like this out of the box, but he is sort of implying it, talking about how the paint isn't faded, etc.
Also says that Star Ship was, in its day, a "cult game". I don't know about that....but there's no accounting for West German tastes.
Can anybody make out what the pictures are on the sides down around the controller dock? They look like photo decals of some sort and not, imo, wholly in line with early 80's design aesthetics. Thus, my guess is that it's a case mod, intended to resemble some old arcade cabinet (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9782). Still, it's a nicely done one. I really like the metal rails.

It's probably a homemade mod, but it looks freaking awesome nonetheless. It's even more awesome if those actually came like those out of the box.
Too bad he doesn't ship to America. :(

Given what that thing might go for, maybe you should arrange for pick-up.
It doesn't look much to me like a hobbyist deal, except that it appears to have a stock back of the case. If a company had made that, wouldn't they have molded (painted?) the back in white too?

Possibly going for the two-tone look, not necessarily being lazy.

He's at least only listed postage for Germany, might be worth asking him though...
Here's what the seller told me:
*****the vectrex from mb is from a gamblinghall/small casino from hannover. i bought it in the early 80's about 1984. a played with it since i got my first atari st in 1986. it is in a very good+ near mint conditon.
the design is not printed on it, the logos are paper-stickers. it was done for promoting or done espeically for the casino. i don't think that the design was made originally made by mb.
the console was let into a wall.
i bought it when the gamblinghall closed down.
i bought it with the original star ship game.
it was packed in vaccuum foil and was well packed in a box on my attic.
I will send it to the usa, but i don't know much it will be for you... could be expensive... first of all i must know how many kilos the parcel is... *****
So in other words, selfmade job indeed. Looks good though.
