View Full Version : What the heck is this?

I found something at a flea market yesterday and I have no idea what it was. You guys will have to forgive me if it's something obvious. I'm a little green when it comes to the older systems.

I'm assuming it was a game. It was in a case like the PS2, Xbox and Gamecube games come in. There was no art on the cover and all it said was "Sega Soccer." The art, what there was of it, looked like a Sega Master game, if that makes any sense (grid-like lines, plain). The game itself was about the size of a credit card, flat, and had a small row of metal contacts. I'm assuming the little card/game could be stored in a small plastic case like the Game Gear games. There were no instructions and little information on the box itself, including if it was even a game. Also, it was $4. I went back today to buy it, just becasue, and it was gone. What the heck was I trying to buy? I can't find anything like it on ebay or in the DP Guide. Just curious.

It's a Master System huCard. Uncommon to find in the wild, but not rare. They only work in the original Master System and the Power Base adaptor.

SMS card games are not very cool, and some of them have no ending, ex: Ghost house

Ghost House definitely has an ending, it's just not very good. The stupid thing is, you have to go through it twice like Ghouls and Ghosts, the bastards.

SO, You're saying you found a Great Soccer on card in the US??

This game was only released on card overseas, and even there, it's hard to find. What luck!

Check out SMS Power's forums, they just posted a topic about games with no ending, Ghost House came up, and someone posted screenshots of the ending.

Germany, or at least mainland Europe, only, I believe. Not released in the UK.

Most people don't know this because the game is damn near impossible. Going through twice is even more impossible. I used an emulator to find this out. I think I only once made it to level 3...maybe 4 on my own. That game is hard and no fun...

The game is not THAT hard, but then again I have been playing it since I purchased it new at Trader Horn :)
