Looks ok, you probably just forgot it looked like that.
Compare to mine if you'd like; the picture turned out a little darker than I actually had the contrast set to display, but you can still determine edge clarity and stuff.

I have a question to ask (and it's not to start a flamewar, but out of curiosity): why not use a GBA SP? Sure it's cool to use a GB or GBP, but at least the SP is lit. For on-the-go gaming, wouldn't it be more useful than the retro fun of using a vintage console? I had a GB Color but got rid of it since I kept my SP for the sole purpose of playing GB and GBC games... Anyways, that's just me.

I use an SP for most of my Game Boy gaming, especially on the go, but it's nice to know my older ones still work so I try not to leave them completely untouched.

GameBoy Light is probably the best way to play GB games.

Ah, the good 'ol blurry Gameboy. To this day I wonder if it contributed to my needing glasses.

You could look into an Afterburner.

I plan on getting a Gameboy Light to play all my original GB games.

GameBoy Light is probably the best way to play GB games.
Agreed.
Game Boy - most comfortable for adult hands, nice screen look - green on yellow - but it does blur :(
Game Boy Pocket - the worst as far as comfort goes. cramps your hands because it is so small. the screen is generally better than original Game Boy but I actually prefer the green on yellow look.
Game Boy Light - Has a larger battery bay in the back, which causes what is otherwise a Game Boy Pocket to be slightly bulkier. an advantage of this is that it doesn't cramp your hands (well, doesn't for me at least. GBP is painful). Black and white like the others, but backlit! :)
Game Boy Color - Colorized? I never owned one of these. I believe it'd probably similar in bulk to the GBL.
Game Boy Advance - Better screen - but it fails in that it's a smaller screen area than on standard Game Boy models.
Game Boy Advance SP - same thing as GBA but backlit.
Game Boy Micro - Haven't used.

Thanks for this info. The DS cannot either, correct?

Right-o. Neither the GB Micro nor the DS/DS Lite can play GB/GBC games.
My personal favourite system for GB/GBC games is either the GBA SP+ or the Super Gameboy.

SP+ is the one with the brighter screen? I own the LE Famicom Anniversary SP..normal I believe. I probably wouldn't bother looking for the brighter screen version, unless it had a completely new model number which made it recognizable on the used market.

The SP+ is a huge improvement over the original SP. It's totally worth the purchase.
An SP+ came in three colours (I think): graphite, pearl plue and pearl pink. The model number is AGS-101. If all else fails, its easy to tell the improved version because if you press the light button, instead of the light going on/off, it goes from dim to bright. The dim setting is brighter than the original SP. The bright setting is AMAZING.
It might have come in other colours (i.e. special editions) - I'm not sure, but worth a purchase in any event :)

Sorry to bring up a month old thread, but I had to chime in here.
Yes, the "Brighter Screen" GBA SP is absolutely amazing. I recently found a brand new/never opened Pearl version of the unit for under $50, and apparently I got a great deal seeing that these are going on ebay for near $200 new. I can see why too...the screen is to die for. It may even be brighter than the DS Lite screens (if not right on par). Funny how Nintendo upgraded the screen to such a great extent right before ending it's life. This is THE gameboy to own, that is for sure! I am using it exclusively to play Gameboy/GBC games, and while the screen view is cut down (smaller) it is STILL easier to play the games in my personal opinion due to no blur at all and a VERY clear and bright screen.
