On Friday I picked up my second pinball machine for the basement arcade. I bought it not working so I have a bit of work to do on this one before I can move it down from the garage. I got a deal on it and the playfield condition is remarkable given its age. I'm am going to use this opportunity to learn how to do a proper restoration, so it might take me a few months to get it working to the point I want it. I have some parts/supplies already on order and I have the repair guide printed and bound for easy access. Hopefully I'll get sometime to start digging into it by next weekend. My goal is to get it playing by Thanksgiving and full restored by New Years.

Awesome! How much did you pay (if you don't mind me asking)?

A local Pizza joint had this pin back in the early 80's and nothing else. This pinball is just about the only early pinball machine I can actually say I loved.

Most of the rollerskating rings had pins but they were all out of order or should have been. And right next to the pins was space invaders and Lunar Lander so my quarter went elsewhere.

I love Flack's story about the old lady that worked in the diner... THE BLACK KNIGHT WILL SLAY YOU!

It's only taken about 2 weeks, but I have this playing pretty close to perfect.

I've been playing it quite a bit and it is beginning to grow on me. I've put in so much time getting it up and running that I'm debating whether or not to keep it after all. I originally bought it for a number of reasons, one of which was to get it working and then either sell or trade it for something I really wanted. I'm not 100% sold on it, but I can now definitely see why so many people like it. It has quite of few unique elements. This weekend I'm starting work on the game room itself, so when I'm done I plan to move this down for a few months and give myself a good opportunity to make my mind up about it. If I decide to sell it, I think about 2 weeks before Christmas should be a good time to maximize profits.
