I bought an In the Hunt cab off craigslist a while ago. They said it worked fine but the only problem is the screen scolls upward until it warms up. So when I went to pick it up we turned it on but the scrolling never stopped, although it did slow a bit after time. (or I was just going crazy from watching it too long)

I was going to start my arcade cab refurbing hobby with this unit. I paid $50 for it, and I figured it would be a simple adjustment on the hold. I had a buddy that was letting me keep it in his garage, well his pops flipped out and made me take it out, now its sitting on my open air carport, vulnerable to the elements! I want to get the unit working by next weekends yard sale. I need to know if a simple vert adjustment will do, or if I need a cap kit. I have no electrical experience whatsoever. I'm fearful of electric shock, as I should be.
So I"ve provided pics of the inside of the unit, and some pics of the outside if anyone was curious.
From these pics, can anyone identify the vert hold? And is it possible to adjust it without 1.21 gigawatts coursing through my veins?

not exactly sure which ones you mean, I'll take another look when I get home. Is it the two white nubs to the right of the green circuit board? Or are they along the back edge in a row on the brown board on the bottom?

still not quite sure what you mean. Pretend I'm 6 years old (not hard to do) , and describe it like you are telling some kid who's dad left him years ago and his mom is too busy drinking to give a crap about teaching him anything about life.

I might get it then.

kthx

Yes, those, here is some information (http://arcadecontrols.com/BBBB/go7-1.html#vcg07). The PDF of the Electrohome G07 can be found online with some searching as well. Be glad that you at least have all the adjustment controls, the G07 in my Galaxian cocktail is missing a few, not broken off, just not present on the board design.

No, those are color cut offs if I remember correctly. Also my Screen control is on the neck board rather than down on the monitor PCB.

Those things in the red box are the v-hold, etc. potentiometers. use a small screwdriver to adjust them, but be careful and do it slowly, I've had one of those G07 pots break apart on me. You can do this while the monitor is on, I like to set up a mirror to see what the screen is doing while I tweak the pots.

Ok I've started adjusting, I figured out what pot does what, the left two more directly target the "flipping". But I cant seem to get a perfect hold. Ther far left one seems to make it drastically sway the flipping up or down, once I slow it down with the far left, I can micromanage it with the next one. I"ve been able to get the screen to stop flipping, but the image is in the wrong position! I cant find a way to completely stop the flipping and hold it in the right spot. Also, after a while the screen will slooooly start to move again.
Is this going to take more work than I bargained for?

Maybe the pots are bad? I don't know how often that happens though, try not to listen to me.

what about the one that is lying flat behind the left one? Does that do anything?

...it's just a measuring point. That page will teach you the basics of the G07.
