Let me know if you can get through the first area in Loadstar. When you die, you have to start over from the last checkpoint, and the timer continues to run out. Also, let me know how buggy it is. I have the DOS version, and I've heard that the Sega CD one is really glitchy.

Never said they were. They're just part of things I bought that day.

Awesome... All I purchased was the cheapest controller and the cheapest wired headset because it did not come with my console. I'M A HORRIBLE PERSON!! D= >_>

Well, when you do get the chance, I would gladly buy it if you could pick it up for me. :)

Next time I'm out there I'll see what I can do. :) It seems 50 is the magic number, I've had access to other 22 in 1 emulated NES on GBA multicarts before but no one had any interest. LOL

Ninendo ds lite system blue $10 yes i know 10 its crazy

psp system witha game and a movie, pirates of the caribean game and narnia movie

$10, yes 10 again. There is a small crack on the bottom right corner of the screen, its not in the way at all, its in the very corner

6 ds games, all good titles were 5 each

6 gba games were free when i bought all of the above

i spent 50 total for everything, all at one house.

So later in the day i find a neighborhood sale right by my house:

Next house, Final fanstasy 7 black label, complete and mint $1, and i got 2 oddworld ps1 games and 1 other game for $1 too.

I passed on 2 ddr mats and ddr konamix for ps1, they were asking 15

$60

This was from an auction I went to on 9-11 that advertised Playstation, Sega & Nintendo stuff. It was in a small town nearby and it is very country as it smelled like cows outside the auction hall which was basically inside of a big barn. You could probably also tell this from the selection of games I got :D

I won the system for $15 and had to bid up to $40 for the 8 games & 2 guides in order to beat out a silent bid of $35 on that lot. Afterwards I was wondering if they were cheating a reserve at this auction hall since a lot of stuff seemed to be going for way too much, a box of records for $75, a small basket of old loose toys for $27.50 and plenty of other things I don't remember too well but had me wondering WTF. It was kind of like an episode of the Twilight Zone where nobody in this town knowns about eBay (or eBay doesn't exsist in this alternate universe) so they all go to to the local auction hall in order to go bid crazy and pay too much for random unique things that they want but don't really need or will get much use out of. 10% buyer's premium had me up to $60.50 but when I went to pay the lady said that $60 even would do.

They had another lot of 8 games that I lost (to a silent bid, probably the same person I had to beat for the games I got!) with my max bid being about $25 for the lot I didn't win, it had (all probably complete in box but Super Punch Out was the only one I actually checked) Super Punch Out, Both Ken Griffey games, NBA Jam, NBA Jam T.E., 2 EA Football games & some Nascar game for the N64. I probably should have tried bidding it up 10 more dollars but I only wanted to bid about what I was thinking Super Punch Out would go for on eBay (I was taking an educated guess at $25) and didn't need it has I have a complete copy I bought on clearance years ago, I also only had about $90-100 on me so I couldn't have gone much more then $10 more then I did. I wouldn't mind grabbing the NBA Jam & Ken Griffey games in the wild complete for about 2ish each if I saw them but missing them here wasen't that big of a deal like getting the lot I won was. They also had 2 PS1s each in the box (one being audiophile type with the red, white & yellow on the back of the sytem), a Genesis 1, a Genesis 2 & a lot of Genesis game (all sports crap not even a Sonic game!) with some factory sealed fishing game for the Game Boy in with the Genesis games. No Playstation games to go with the systems.

What REALLY made me think that I was right about people way over bidding on some of this stuff was the fact that after I won the SNES games and was getting ready to pay and leave they put up the Genesis 1 with hookups & 1 or 2 controllers (can't remember for sure but I think it was 1 controller) and it went for $40 or $45 dollars!!! so somebody bid this up to almost $50 after buyer's premium. I know for sure what a Genesis is worth and before this would think that around here over paying for a Genesis at an auction would be about $15-20ish. I saw a guy win a Genesis 2 boxed (with the box being fairly rough) for close to $15 after buyer's premium last year at an auction only to find him selling it on eBay and losing a few bucks in doing so.

Crazy Minigolf 3D - Free

Asked about games at this sale and the lady showed me this that I missed that was with the books. She said that she thought it was chinsy (sp?) and didn't like how it controlled with her trackball mouse. It was .10 and when I asked her about change as I only had a quarter she said I could just have it lol

Baseball Stars - $2
Cyber Stadium Series: Base Wars - $2

These were actually from a Thursday (8 family) yardsale. I've been to this house in previous years, $2 was the asking price and I usually don't even bother haggling any more on stuff with initials as it's usually not in the sale runners hands when that's the case or they come down in price a little bit at best sometimes acting like your trying to rob them in haggling! They also had Othello, Bases Loaded II & some Sesame Street game I passed on. I have been wanting a copy of Base Wars (but not bad enough to go the online route for it) so I figured that $2 would have to work even if it seemed rather rich compared to most yardsale worthy NES finds.

Pokemon Red - $1

Found this at an unadvertised yardsale I passed by, they had a GBC with some hunting game and Pokemon Red in the system. I asked about buying just Pokemon Red and the lady said she would take a dollar for it which I gave her as I felt like she was being nice letting me buy just the game at $1 and didn't think it would good yetiquette (yard sale etiquette) to counter with something like .50 (a buck being good enough for me anyways).

Atari 2600 Controller Plug & Play - .50

Saw this at a house I've been to before with no price. Picked it up and asked how much .50 which I paid. I'm pretty sure I saw this plug & play at this sale before but didn't bother with it and I can't remember why (maybe had a high price that time or because the sale was busy and I didn't want it that bad and figured they'd want to much if it didn't have a price on it etc)

Super Smash Bros Melee [Best Seller] (Complete) - $5

Saw this with some other GameCube & Playstation 2 games all marked $5 probably the only other ones worth that or more being Pokemon Channel & Pokemon Colossem that I passed on since I didn't have much if any interest in them so I knew I'd never get to playing them. Didn't bother haggling again as $5 was good for SSBM and it was tagged with a kid's initials. This lady actually recognized me from a yardsale at this house two years ago and remembered taking my number as she mentioned having a Sega Genesis when I asked about video games 2 years ago. She apologized and said she lost my number (shortly after taking it) and it sounded as if she never did find the Genesis stuff.

Tyco Power Plug (SNES, New)
Monopoly (SNES, CIB)
Sim City (SNES, CIB)
Super Solitaire (SNES, CIB)

$5

Unadvertised sale, the people were still setting up a lot of stuff when I got to it at about 8:30. I found the Power Plug sitting out and the middle aged lady helping her parents set up said a buck would do since it wasen't priced. I asked about video games and the older lady running the sale mentioned a box with some game stuff around that she saw the night before that she didn't put out yet but would hold for me once she found it if I came back, I was thinking it could be a SNES with games. I came back a half hour later and the lady's husband put it out after being asked to put it aside lol It was a box with what I bought along with some DVDs, CDs etc and 3 other games I put back (2 golf games & Wheel of Fortune all CIB for the SNES) When I came up with what I got along with the 3 games I put back the older lady got her husband to wheel and deal with me mentioning that she doesn't know anything about this stuff. The husband came up and asked what I got, I was thinking about opening up with $3 for it all but he was pretty much assessing what I had right away asking me what it was and came at me with how about $15. I walked away thinking about it and put 3 games back to which a guy looking though the box that came up as I first started looking though it in a joking way asked if I wasen't getting the deal I wanted (over hearing the guy) when he saw me putting back a few games. I walked back up to the guy and CIF'd him $5 holding what I ended up with which he said ok to as he was trying to settle his dog down that was staked into the yard on a lease near the tables set up.

When I was talking to the guy he mentioned something about a system and not being sure where it was. I was thinking they might find it but it didn't seem worth waiting around for or coming back later and dealing down on the price if they unearthed what could be a (boxed?) SNES. I figured it was probably gone years ago as not seeing any side scrollers or good action games in the bunch of games they had. I was thinking that gramps might not have realized it if Jr took the SNES with him years ago with the games he'd actually play (Super Mario World etc) only leaving behind what he'd never play and considered the dreck.

$10

Asked about video games at a sale, it was an older couple probably in their 60s maybe abit older and mostly knick knacks out for sale at this YS, definately not the yardsale you would expect to yeild anything video game related by asking. The lady said that her husband had a NES and flagged him over as he was out by the drive way kind of like he was working on the floor (if this was a store) he went in and brought out all of this stuff then walked off. I said something to the lady about how he didn't talk prices and asked if it worked which she said it was last used by the grand kids about a month ago and it works. She said how about $15 to which I replied back with $10 which was taken. I thanked her and the guy on the way out for the trouble of rounding up the stuff as I was leaving. NES Open Tournament Golf was in the system and the Metroid box had all of the manuals in it.

This is the first time I've seen Mega Man 6 in the wild and with that Mega Man 5 is the only NES Mega Man I haven't come across in the wild over the last few years. I didn't look at all of the manuals until yesterday but was really hoping for a manual for Mega Man 6 to be in the bunch as I actually have a Mega Man 6 box that a buddy gave me years ago when he was clearing out some stuff to appease the old lady.

Pretty good week yardsaling overall and my biggest list of sales this year (went to about 21 sales just in my town with only 2 being just outside of town). I'll have to remember for now on that the last weekend of summer is when most people figure is the last good chance at having a yardsale for the season around here.

I live in Northeastern PA. You mean the sellers wanted high prices (as in too high to actually sell) or buyers were still buying stuff up like crazy at high prices :D The funny thing is the flea market I frequent is about 10-15 minutes away from the location of this auction and a lot of this same stuff would probably be rotting if a seller was selling it for considerably less then what some of this junk was going for at this auction.

Exactly. I use to not care about flaunting the prices, but then someone went and bitched in my selling thread that because one game had a $5.00 price sticker on it he shouldn't have to pay more than that:hmm: So in the future I will have to cover prices when I get really good deals.

I have no idea. My best friend kept saying it rocked, and since it cost a buck, I figured I'd get it and see how it was. Considering he was spot on with In Bruges, I tend to listen to his recommendations.

Except when it comes to mecha anime. That shit's boring. :P

You're not watching the right ones then. I'd personally recommend Gundam 0083 right now (just finished watching), and the rest of the Universal Century Gundam stuff. Evangelion is one of the greatest series ever, but they're not really mecha.

"Super Robot" anime aren't nearly as interesting as "mecha as tools" anime.

Universal Century Gundam = War
Alternate universe Gundam/other stuff = "Shining Finguuuuuuh!"

King's Quest 8, complete. $10.93 including shipping. Box is slightly worn, and the jewel case cover art has a slight bend in it, but it's still great. Found an Atari lot "somewhat" locally for $50 -- a 4-switch Atari 2600, a Sears Tele-Games console, and a whole mess of around 30 common Atari cartridges, plus a few cartridges I don't see as often like Kool-Aid Man, Trick Shot, & Flag Capture.

Oh and I almost forgot ...in the lot there was some cartridge you might have possibly heard of ... "Chase the Chuckwagon."

Atari game that you had to send in coupons or proofs of purchase from "Chuckwagon" dog food to get. I think some people consider it the 2600 holy grail.

I bought a Wii off Craigslist that needed an AC adapter (which I already had from a previous system that had been stolen) and the memory card and controller port covers (which I bought off Nintendo's site for $4.25 shipped). It didn't have a nunchuck or Wii Sports, but I already got Wii Sports with left over Goozex points that I'd had since early this year. It has Super Mario 3 on it too.:moon::moon::moon:

Total cost: $125

From DP user glorfindel, three excellent games...

SNES - Micro Machines (complete)
SNES - Street Racer (complete)
N64 - Automobili Lamborghini (complete)

$13.00 after shipping. All are complete as in cartridges bagged, booklets, etc. The boxes are in excellent shape as well, barring having the slightest bit of tape residue here and there and a little edge wear. Thankfully the packing tape that was used to seal them (damn Goodwill) came off without causing damage. I had forgotten how much fun Street Racer is.

Before starting to study for my Neuro Science exam that is on monday; I decided to hit up one yardsale that was listed on craigslist...

The young guy seemed to be a collector of many things. Everything from Transformers, He-Man, and Thundercats too N64, Sega Genesis, SNES, and much more.

It would seem maybe to be an awesome yardsale, but since he was a collector he had set prices in mind. Only one other person showed up to the yardsale right when it started and he did a B-line right for the games too. But I swooped in there first (I was there first anyhow). They were set up in a couple book cases in the basement and this is what I got in the end...

SNES (filling in some holes in the ol' collection):
Dungeon Master
Jim Power The Lost Dimension in 3-D
TMNT Tournament Fighters
The Ren and Stimpy Show Buckeroo$!

Sega CD:
Frankenstein/Dracula
Dune
Stellar Fire (*for sale)

NES
Dig Dug II (Boxed Complete)
Phantom Fighter (Boxed Complete)

Dreamcast:
Resident Evil Code Veronica

Sega Genesis (All Complete):
Mystic Defender
Shining in the Darkness :)
Last Battle
ESWAT City Under Siege
Warrior of Rome :)
Star Control :)

Guides:
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Soul Calibur II

The seller had a ton of other NES games, but I passed on them because I limit myself by GENERALLY only buying boxed games unless the game is uber rare. I did sadly pass on Donkey Kong Jr. Math, Lolo, and Clu-Clu Land. I just waited to see what he charged the other guy for his stack of common stuff before I said I was done to get a feel for his pricing. He charged the guy $110!!! I would have never, but I am not a reseller, so what do I know?? So I put back the three aforementioned games, just so I would get a lower price off the bat...I added in Code Veronica right at the end.

The other guy that was there (sorry if you belong to this site, haha) got a few boxed/complete Zelda and Mario N64 games and other stuff that I thought (personally) may bring money on places like Ebay...just cause it is Mario and Zelda...but otherwise I was happy to let him take. He did need a little Yardsale etiquette though...

I understand some people go by the "who ever can snatch first" method, but I personally feel that who ever is in front of that section, first has first dibs. I have been at places about to SCREAM because I knew people were (and have) going take stuff before I could, but that is how the yoshi cookie crumbles.

At one point he asked me to hand him Warrior of Rome off the shelf...haha. I was like, "Sorry man, haven't got there yet" So that made me question if he was a reseller, collector, or both. Cause any gamer or collector would already have the other stuff he got...I would think.

Once again, sorry if you belong to this site.

OFF TO STUDY!
Mike

PS- That all cost $50 :)

Nice day out at the flea market today, it did start to heat up though so I was glad I got most of my business taken care of early. First stop was with Shorty as always, as I was going through his NES games he brought out a bag with some new titles, most of which I grabbed. Everything I bought was off the tables this time. He gave me a 2 for $5.00 price for those sealed JPN Dreamcast games from last week, they're all still there. Again, anyone know the value of sealed JPN copies of Sonic Adventure (couple of them, mostly mint), Blue Stinger (again, a couple) Elemental Gimmick Gear, Pen Pen Tricelon, and World Neverland Plus (which looked interesting both these weeks but I know I'd never be able to play it due to all the text)? Next time I go out I may just buy the whole box of them, if they're still there that is.

I did go through his GBA multicarts again, picking up one for me and another 50 in 1 (same as last week) for my Buying and Selling thread. I have no freaking idea how he came to a price this time, as far as I was adding in my head things should have been in the upper $30.00 range but he told me $26.00 - years of business pay off again. Here's what I picked up from him.

NES - 1942
NES - Double Dragon II: The Revenge
NES - Ninja Gaiden
NES - Tecmo Bowl
NES - Tecmo Super Bowl
NES - Ultima Quest of the Avatar
GBA - 39 in 1 NES emulation on GBA
GBA - 50 in 1 NES emulation on GBA

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-09-27(01).jpg

Double Dragon II and Ninja Gaiden will be in my Buying and Selling thread. 1942 doesn't work, it's clean as a whistle but simply won't boot - I wonder if it got a static volley at one point. Either way the label is perfect, I have bad luck with copies of 1942 so I think I'll hold onto it until I come across a working (but always physically a mess) copy.

Check out my post on the previous page for what games are on the 50 in 1 cartridge, it will also be in my Buying and Selling thread soon. The 39 in 1 cartridge was picked up for me, as stated above. It has more excellent games including both Galaga and Galaxian, Kareteka, Circus Charlie and The Legend of Kage - some of my favorite Famicom (and NES titles). Here's a list of the games on it...

01. Aladdin (Pirate original NES version of the SNES game)
02. Contra
03. Duck Tales
04. Thundercade
05. X-Men
06. Super Mario Bros.
07. Dr. Mario
08. Bomberman
09. Adventure Island
10. The Legend of Kage
11. 1942
12. Circus Charlie (JPN)
13. Popeye
14. Defender II
15. Lode Runner
16. 10-Yard Fight (JPN)
17. Antarctic Adventure (JPN)
18. Balloon Fight
19. Binary Land (JPN)
20. Brush Roller (Pirate original)
21. Chack 'n Pop (JPN)
22. Devil World (JPN)
23. Donkey Kong Jr.
24. Excitebike
25. Exerion (JPN)
26. Front Line (JPN)
27. Lunar Ball (JPN)
28. Galaga (JPN)
29. Galaxian (JPN)
30. Ice Climber (JPN)
31. Joust (JPN)
32. Karateka (JPN)
33. M.U.S.C.L.E.
34. Mappy (JPN)
35. Ninja Kun (JPN)
36. Pac-Man (JPN)
37. Urban Champion
38. Star Force
39. Super Arabian (JPN)

After that I walked around a good half of the entire flea market (the SJFM is HUGE) but only made one other purchase. A guy had a bunch of NES, SNES and N64 games and when I asked him about prices he said it meant what the game was. He said most are $2.00 or $3.00, Mario games are usually $5.00 - fair enough. He pointed out a copy of SMB / Duck Hunt that would be $5.00 - crazy, I know, but that's still somewhat in reason on the basis that it's a great game. In the pile of games I found a lone Super Famicom game, Ranma 1/2 Chounai Gekitou-hen, the first of the series of Super Famicom fighting games. (not the one released in the USA) He said $2.00 and asked me if I knew what it was, I played a bit dumb, saying I didn't know but it looked Japanese and I knew someone that plays odd Japanese games. He asked if it was an N64 game to which I said "I don't think so" and compared the cartridge size against an N64 game. It's in great shape for a loose game and works fine, will probably be in my Buying and Selling thread.

SFC - Ranma 1/2 ($2.00)

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-09-27(02).jpg

Other stuff I saw but didn't pass up were Harvest Moon GBC loose and what I believe was the Japanese version of The Castlevania Adventure (GB) also loose. $10.00 each, a bit much, if the kid said $5.00 for Harvest Moon I would have bought it. To me though, $10.00 is still again relitavely fair. I mean, those are pretty uncommon games. He also had a loose copy of Burgertime Deluxe for $10.00 in great shape, in hindsight I should have bought it. I can always go back tomorrow morning quickly though.

Also one seller, big lots of games. There was a lone Saturn import in a box of PlayStation games. I asked how much, the kid finds the dude that runs it, he said $15.00. Let's put it this way, I don't even recall the title, I figured it would be cheap since it would be odd in the lot. Over at his NES games I found a copy of Ghoul School, okay shape, but nowhere near nice. I ask how much, kid goes to ask the guy - $7.00! No thanks, if he said $5.00 I maybe would have bought it, but not for $7.00 in that shape. Was also a guy with a complete copy of Galaxy Force for the Master System for $9.00 - too much for me to pay, but again a fair price.

Again, if anyone can give some insight into those JPN Dreamcast games, please let me know ASAP and I'll go back tomorrow (long drive) and grab them, as well as that copy of Burgertime DX if $10.00 seems as good a deal as it sounds to me.

I don't believe the JP version of Sonic Adventure is worth very much. One copy sold for a penny on eBay.

If anything, I would go for that one game that didn't get released stateside. I'd keep it for trading purposes - who knows, maybe someone will want it!

Oh, and in regards to your Ranma find... it did get released here. Sorta. (For anyone that's curious about this.)

I agree with Kitsune Sniper... the only one I would go for is the jpn only one. That and maybe Pen Pen since I'm sure it's still playable in Japanese?

I feel like I've seen more copies of the jpn version of EGG for sale (on and off ebay) than the US release honestly. So, unless you know where to trade them, id hold off on most of them--seems pretty hard to move jpn dreamcast games from what ive seen.

Sounds pretty good to me...

I was able to squeeze one good deal this week. I got the Buzz Jr. Jungle Party set with the game and 4 buzzers for PS2 for $9.98 on clearance at Target.

Then, I went back later in the day with my receipt for the Buzz!: The Mega Quiz PS2 set I had purchased less than a month ago to do a return and rebuy to get $10.50 back since I had originally paid $19.98 for it there and the price had gone down in the store's inventory.

Now, all I need are 3 friends to play the games. As far as I know, those aren't on clearance at Target...

Quick run back out to the flea market this morning to pick up stuff I didn't get yesterday. I traded that non-working copy of 1942 back to Shorty for a copy of Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego. I have a complete copy but my brother has been looking for a loose one. Most of his Dreamcast games were gone, I asked if he sold a lot and he said he did. He also had a bunch of PlayStation imports but nothing interesting. I was about to go when I asked him if he had any Japanese Dreamcast, he said he did and produced a bag - that contained all the games I was looking at yesterday, so I grabbed them.

DC - Elemental Gimmick Gear (JPN) (sealed)
DC - Monaco Grand Prix Simulation 2 (JPN) (disc and booklet only)
DC - World Neverland Plus (JPN) (sealed)
DC - Sonic Adventure (JPN) (sealed)

Sonic adventure is mint. EGG has a couple small tares in the plastic and a couple cracks on the front of the case. World Neverland Plus is the same as EGG but the plastic is in better shape. I'm going to crack open EGG and World Neverland Plus in a few minutes unless someone here stops me. They're factory seals due to the matching pull to open strips along the bottoms.

http://www.classicplastic.net/digitalpress/finds/DP-Finds-2008-09-28(01).jpg

I also went back to the seller at the back of the flea market and asked about Burgertime Deluxe, $10.00 like I had assumed. The label isn't in perfect shape but is good with a little peeling at the top. The cartridge itself has the yellow grime on the back that some loose GB games in the wild seem to get. I tried $7.00 but ended up paying $10.00 - cool game, but I'll probably end up selling it eventually.

I don't normally get to go bootsaling very much, partly because I don't really know anything decent around my way, partly because of the need to get up very early, and partly because I don't gather much UK stuff. However with Eurocon (http://www.eurocon.info/) coming up and visiting some mates up north on the weekend just gone, I decide to grab some items mostly to resell at the show, but also a couple of nice bits for myself...

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/MayhemUK/weekend1.jpg

Local game store were doing 3 for 2 on Gameboy titles so took these, all complete. F1 Race was at one small boot sale, all minty mint and unused but no cart! Still that ain't gonna be hard to find, £2 for that at least.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/MayhemUK/weekend2.jpg

Micro Machines and Chameleon Twist 2, both complete, £4. Anyone know what sort of rough price these are? Ditto for the Gamegear game, minty mint complete and practically unused for £1.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/MayhemUK/weekend3.jpg

A decent array of pretty much (I'm using this a lot here!) minty mint almost unused PS2 titles, £18 for all of these.

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q167/MayhemUK/weekend4.jpg

A bundle of really good (in general) SNES titles, £35 for the lot. Could have been much less but a local reseller told the woman selling them she was asking too little...

(and I couldn't tell him to bugger off sadly, as she knew him quite well. Maybe he was just annoyed I was taking most of what she had in the bucket before he had thought about it)
