was wondering if it really was made or just a sticker put on by some kid in an attempt to scam someone.

It is indeed legit, not sure where it was originally sold when it was new though.

You had to purchase a certain amount of Tommy Hilfiger clothing and then you could purchase the system for pretty close to regular MSRP from what I recall. It was supposedly available at various department stores which carried Hilfiger, but I remember not being able to find one at the time, so I just bought it off Ebay.

Yeah, I remember seeing a ad for a local department store that was promoting these GB's. I think the deal was if you bought at least $50 or $100 in Hilfiger gear, you could buy the Gameboy for $70.

Yeah, it's legit, my wife bought me one back in 1999, from Amazon (I think). It has a "limited edition" packaging, still have the original box in the game room. Always struck me as funky that Nintendo and Hilfiger would team up on something like this.

It does seem like most of the people who posted knowing about it are from the east coast. Maybe it was only available in the east coast?

I've known that it existed from reading a Gameboy website back in the day. But didn't know much info aside from that. I never saw it advertised (then again...I never really tried to buy any Hilfiger stuff). It's a pretty strange collab though...

This was available in Canada from The Bay I believe. It's been quite a while but I recall seeing the ad in a store, just not 100% on which one.

I can also confirm the existence of the Tommy Hilfiger Gameboy as I myself have one and bought it in one of the places it was originally sold (and also where I worked at the time) which is Macy's. I rememeber when we had 3 units left just sitting there, my manager let me use my discount and I bought each one for like $20...and sold them on Ebay for like $80 :)

Did it come in a special box or anything? Anyone have a pic? I certainly remember seeing pictures of this when it came out, but never boxed.

Those suckers were only available at Nordstrom, if I remember correctly. I lived in D.C. at the time and remember seeing those Tommy GBCs at the mall.

Then, the security guard shooed me out because I couldn't afford a pair of socks in that store back then.

I recently sold one of these to a DP member, pretty much NIB. I purchased it for my brother (who worked for Tommy as a system admin at the time) as a joke :) I don't think the demand was ever there for the unit however, as I sold it for next to nothing and I purchased it for next to nothing. Clothing and gaming do not collide I suppose...haha!

But that is insanely overpriced...even if it is still sealed. I would honestly estimate that to be worth half of what he is asking if not slightly less. They are not that rare at all.
