Since the Atari Age scan thread got smashed by silly bickering, I thought I'd try to appeal once again to the classic GAMERS out there.
Who remembers getting this catalog in 1988... YEARS after Intellivision was history, in what seemed like the peak of Nintendo's dominance in the US? It was a short-lived but exciting moment. New games for an orphaned system.
Re-live that moment, or imagine it's 1988 and this catalog/newsletter appears in your mail...

Hey Joe, I have that one, plus I have two more late release catalogs.
One is spring/summer 1987 (Picture of waitress holding TV on cover)
Other one is Intellivision Special "Frequent Buyers Only" Catalog
Brand new exciting SUPER PRO SPORTS Titles on the cover (Special Sports Issue!)
Let me know if you need either of them, they look complete and in reasonably good condition.
Edit - Let me know if you need PICTURES of either of them 8-)

I need both of those! I have a few of the 1987 TRITON catalogs which are pretty cool but if you could scan those bad boys in for me I'd appreciate it. Let me know if you need the dimensions or any other info, Toby. THANKS!

Don't have a scanner handy (I know, I'm the only person on ebay without a scanner) but I took some pics with the camera for now of the first one:

I'll try and get both catalogs to a scanner sometime in the next week or so.

Yo Sylent!
Those pics look good but definitely better on a scanner for long-term posterity. Thanks for sharing! If you can scan them in please send them along, I'd love to add more to the current set online.

Wow, thanks Joe, I'd never seen that.
Its kind of sad though, the mailout seemed so full of optimism, and promises of a whole bunch of new games which never made it out....
Boy do I wish I had bought many of those games back then.
How did you get on the mailing list to get these mailouts back then?
Did anyone in Canada get these, or was it US only?

Ok look at this page: http://www.digitpress.com/archives/intv/fall88_p09.jpg
What the hell is that keyboard thing? Thats not the normal ECS keyboard, it's about twice as big! Did INTV sell those? I've never seen anything like that before. And I just noticed it says it supports the Intellivision III!?!
Also I noticed that they have Frogger listed in the catalog. Does this mean an INTV Frogger label exists?

Hover Force and Pole Position look very good, as do the RPG games.
But Space Spartans and B-17 Bomber are still the best.

Damned if I know. I know that I didn't send anything in, but it's possible that I had ordered from somewhere that kept my name on a mailing list.
Did anyone in Canada get these, or was it US only?
Again, not sure about that. How popular was Intellivision in Canada?

The keyboard is just an ECS keyboard. I don't know if they ever released it that silver style, but I've seen ECS keyboards in black and brown (other than the standard white), variations are listed in the DP Guide.
The INTV Frogger is listed in the rumor mill of the DP Guide. It was never released.

I rememberit being very popular back in the day.
The titles were sold through a large retail chain (at the time, that chain is since defunct) known as Consumers Distributing.
There were other places to get themof course, but I remember that Consumers always had alot of titles and regularly printed their catalogues which had the first pictures of the new and yet to be released games.
I wonder how INTV Corp. compiled their list of names to contact.
Clearly they were selling direct at that point and cutting out the retailer.
Maybe it was from info from people who sent in warranty cards and the like.
I know I never did that.
Sounds like a question for the Blue Sky Rangers! :)

It might be an ECS keybaord, but it definetly has a different key setup (compare it to a regular ECS keybaord). It also looks a little larger.

I never understood how these were marketed. How did they know who to send these to? Were these ever advertised in magazines? If they were programming new games, why wasn't this done with CV? Weren't there at least as many CV's sold?
