I want to put some files on an SD card, but no computer or camera I own uses the format. I am wondering if I can put an SD card in my PS3, and then copy files to it, perhaps from a USB drive. I don't actually own an SD card yet, so my purchase may depend on the answer.
Lacking that, does anybody have any suggestions on a good USB based SD card drive?
Thanks.

Hmmm...
if they are a media format that the PS3 recognizes (appropriate graphic, audio, or video file) you should be able to copy them over to the SD card slot.
(or an SD card slot on a usb.)
But, you do realize that if you have a computer with a USB, you can get an SD card reader for around $2, right?

It wouldn't be a standard file that I need to transfer. I didn't realize I could get a reader for THAT cheap.
I just bought a $3 reader and a 2GB SD card from that site. Thanks.

Yup.
SD tech is sooooo fantastically cheap these days, and DX is one heck of a HK gaming/tech/novelty site.

I got one of those readers. They are quite good.
They don't support the SDHC standard, so 4GB or higher is a no-no..

For the price he described, I'm guessing he got this one SDHC compat.

Yep, that's the one. I figured there would be a slight chance I would have to use that in the future.
