i just scored earthbound for snes at my neighbors garage sale for a quarter lol.
i bought it, walked inside my house, and screamed for joy.
I also got a stack of snes rpgs like lufia 2 brain lord, and some n64 games like ocarina of time, majoras mask, mario 64 and a bunch of others all for a quarter each.
tons of nintendo powers and strat guides, the whole stack for a dollar.

one of my buddies got a boxed complete chrono trigger for 5$ along with a snes for 10$ at a yard sale.
i found a LED football at a yard sale for 50cents when i was a kid.
i love Garage/Yard sales!!

Not jealous, in fact I'd be happy if he got such a great game for 25 cents.
My problem lies in the attention-grabbing fishiness of the whole story, and the sudden disappearance of the OP. It wouldn't be the first time someone has come up with some bogus story about some great find because they feel the need for a bit of attention.
I'd like to believe you, but I don't buy the story, personally. However give me some pictures and I'll congratulate you on an amazing find. :)

It's earthbound.. I mean, sure he can resell it and make a nice amount of money, but it's not like he got a gold NWC cart for $0.25.
Nice find, pretty much it. If the guys who are totally jealous of him want to score similar finds, get a part time job at a game store in a city. Tons of people bring in classics and have to be turned away because the stores no longer carry the older titles.
I had no idea how much the stuff I sold on ebay actually supplemented my horrible hourly wage, I made a pretty decent amount of money as a part time worker ;)

Although Earthbound is kind of a big dollar game, there are quite a few copies around. I remember when I was in college from 97 -> 2001, my local Software Etc was sitting on a stack of brand new ones for years that nobody bought (including me... doh!)
Actually, I happened to have an extra loose copy that I gave away to a friend about 2 weeks ago. So there's one person who got it for *free*... :)

Yeah, it's not a rare game by itself, but a CIB copy with the guide and everything is definitely hard to find. I was thinking BS from the beginning, and by now I'm pretty much certain of it.

I got this lock at a neighbors garage sale for a quarter too! He totally didn't know what he had. I totally ripped him off and laughed at him once I got back into the house. Heck, I didn't even know my neighbor was a mod!
