Wikipedia has an alphabetical list, but I've been unable to track down a list by date.

You can sort the wikipedia listing by year released. Or, are you looking for month/day info as well?

Yeah, I'm looking for exact US release dates. It may be a lost cause though :(
Remember when Nintendo power put out that guide to NES games with all the releases up to that point? It had the release dates, but I can't remember the name of that special issue.

The guide being mentioned is the "Pak Source Guide"
It was an insert in the Super Mario Bros. 3 issue of Nintendo Power.

The guide covers up to the time of that issue… (I think it was March 1990?)

Also the Pak Source guide only has month/year. It does not have the exact day.
