According to this article (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/systemuse/xbox360/digitalmedia/zune.htm), using a zune with an xbox 360 should be easy.
My xbox 360 is up-to-date, but when I plug my zune into the front usb port, nothing happens. The zune screen lights up because its charging through the usb port, but that's it. If I go into the Pictures/Music/Video, I can't switch devices to the zune. It does however want to sync with my zune data (from my Vista laptop) over the wireless network.
Does anyone have any ideas?

It should be that easy. I just did that for the first time like last week. Go into the dashboard - media - music - press x to change media source then you should see the Zune as an option, You can even go through you pics and videos with it. It may take a while to load everything though, especially if you have a lot of files but if you go into indivdual playlist it should be fairly quick.

Hey it worked this time :D
No idea why it didn't work the first time. Maybe its because the Zune software was running on my laptop?

In the setting of the zune software you have to select share media with xbox 360's then it should work just fine.

Thanks guys.
I'm loving my Zune so far. My only gripe is that the battery sucks when playing video. It's no worse than comparable players when dealing with video though.
Out of curiosity, how compatible is the xbox 360 with an 80GB ipod classic? That's what my wife just bought.

My iPod used to work with my 360, then I got RROD, sent it in and got a replacement console and the iPod doesn't work with it anymore. I re-downloaded the Media Update through the same gamertag, resynced the iPod with the same computer that I can (fortunately) still stream music from, and it still won't work. But it works on other people's 360s that have the update. GAH
