Hey guys I have searched for hours last night for an answer but couldn't find anything. I have a 40" samsung LCD tv, when I hook up my SNES using composite cables it says "No Signal" using the same cables it works on my crt tv and the same cable will work with my Gamecube on the LCD. I also tried my S-video cable and it still did the same thing. From what I gather the Tv doesn't support SNES's resolution natively... I guess!

So some people seem to have luck with VCRs, composite switchers or a converter like XRGB. I tried a av switch and it didn't work. If that is what I need to do is there any cheap boxes that will allow me to hook it up without all the fluff. Are there any mods for the SNES or anything like that?

Thanks

I had the same exact problem. I think it is a resolution thing, yeah. I ran mine through a VCR first, and that solved the problem.

I have all my Nintendos connected to my LCD and they all work fine. The cube, 64, and SNES all use the same cable that i swap and that is connected through s-video

Does it look any decent through your VCR? Are you hooking it up through Svideo or AV cables? Oh and do you know of any DVD players with inputs that will do the same thing?

Hmmm, it looks fine through my VCR. It's just AV. I only did it to test the games in my FS thread though. I know my dvd player doesn't have inputs. I don't think they normally do.

Well I was about to go out and buy a VCR even though I don't have a use for one, but as a last ditch effort I tried a powered 4 av switcher and it worked fine. I wonder why it works. As long as I can play some Snes goodness its alright. Thanks Johnny.

Maybe the SNES outputs a weak signal?
