Hey all,

Don't forget you can search GameGavel's listings by Digital Press Members. Simply click our Advanced Search button located near the main GameGavel search bar and click on Digital Press and then Search. Now you will only see items for sale by other Digital Press members only! Pretty cool, huh? Maybe you can fill some holiday shopping holes buying from other DP members.

Give it a try!

Wow, we have come a long way since this thread started. Since that first post we've grown to nearly 5,000 members, have hosted over 350,000 auctions and have sold over $210,000 in merchandise.

Now the time has come for a much needed site facelift. The new site will incorporate a completely updated look which will combine all aspects of our site including the auction marketplace first and foremost, followed by the forum/community and entertainment aspects that have been added over the past couple years.

GameGavel is an unique, all-inclusive video gaming destination unlike any other and this new layout will bring it all together!

In the meantime, have a look at the style we are going for although this is an early mockup and will change as it becomes implemented in January 2011.

Mockup - you may have to scroll a bit as this is only a mockup
http://www.casedigital.com/gamegavel/atari/game_gavel_atari.html

One cool thing we will incorporate are site skin backgrounds which users will have the option of choosing including solid colors, retro console gaming (like the Atari games shown in this mockup), modern day gaming and yes, an arcade theme!

This is will be phase one of some big changes coming for the site and some of these changes will be big and will continue to grow the site even more. So 2011 is going to be GameGavel's best year yet.

There seems to be an issue with Game Gavel.

I just sent payment (for your listings, Mike...check your Paypal messages!) and when I clicked on SUBMIT, all I get is a blank white page. Nothing else loads.

Although payment was indeed sent (as stated by Paypal), it does not register on the GameGavel site, and it even tells me that I've yet to send payment!

Has anyone gone through this as well?

Strange. I've not had anyone else mention this, and I have made some recent purchases on it and paid via pal and it worked fine. Let me look into it though.

Hey all,

In celebration of Ebay's 2011 Fee Update we are dropping our Reserve Price auction fee of $.50. Many believe items won't sell for as much on GG as on Ebay. Keep in mind, many things do sell for the same price as on Ebay, but to ease your minds we are helping you protect yourself by dropping our fees for running Reserve Price auctions. This now joins the Buy Now and Listings as a free option for our sellers. You now have nothing to lose to try it out.

All we ask is that if you run a Reserve Price auction or Buy Now listing, please price your items intelligently by researching past selling prices on good ole' Ebay. Remember, to promote your GameGavel auctions here on DP as well as the other forums you frequent. This brings people to both your listings and also into GameGavel.

Thanks for keeping us in the back of your mind, but please consider thinking of GameGavel a bit more, especially in lieu of Ebay's recent changes.

Thanks guys!

Yellow Zelda Test Cart sells for $751.01 on GameGavel - Over 1100 views! - List your rare gaming items on GameGavel and don't pay the high eBay selling fees!

http://www.gamegavel.com/item.cgi?show_item=0000561834

eBay would have charged about $70 in selling fees. Our fees: $1.99/month for 20 listings/sales or $7.99/month unlimited.

Have something rare to sell? Want to avoid eBay 9% selling fees? Give GameGavel.com a try!

Every time I have tried listing on Game Gavel I have very low success actually selling items compared to E-bay, I was about to try to list a couple items when I noticed I have to subscribe to a monthly membership.

I do not see what the terms are, can I cancel anytime? Also when I was about to make the payment, I noticed I cannot pay with my Paypal balance, I have to do e-check. Why was the old payment method removed? I guess I'll continue to pay the ridiculous E-bay fees for the time being...

Just like Ebay, common items are hit and miss, especially if sellers over price their items at the slightest compared to eBay selling prices. Keep trying :) But the point with rare items, that will sell regardless of where they are listed, GameGavel works very nicely as in this Zelda test cart auction. 1100 views and successful sale.

We are trying the subscription model and is priced pretty darn cheap. $1.99 up to 20 listings/sales and $7.99 unlimited listings/sales. We use Paypal's recurrning subscription service and it will determine the payment method based on something with your account, has nothing to do with us. So not sure why it is making you do an echeck vs. balance. Noone else has mentioned this.

The subsciption is recurring unless you cancel it within Paypal.
