Hello ya' all!...
Heres the deal, I've been selling on Ebay since 2002 and never encounter a problem until now (yes, there's always a first time)....Around 2 1/2 weeks ago, I sold a Genesis 2 and Sega Cd model 2 system on the bay. The auction description stated that the items in case that a problem , they could be returned in a time frame period of 3 days..The Buyer contacted me after a week saying that the Sega Cd didn't work...
Well, first of all, I would never sell things that don't properly work..Thats just BS..And the bad karma always comeback one way or the other.
After a few messages back and forward, they guy decided to file a "not as described" Paypal refund claim. Of course, I immediately denied it.
Then I told him to send back the systems for me to find out the possible problem or the possible refund..Keep in mind that I'm an electrical engineer, and that I perfectly knew the Sega Cd revision model, the Laser model and the whole cd transport in general.
The systems finally cameback today, after taking the Sega Cd system apart for the complete check-up, I noticed that this guy decided to swap the laser assembly for a broken one as it is not the same...This totally smells like a scam...So I'm definitely not going to or willing at least to give the refund back...Hes got 37 (100%)ratings and my feedback is 100% as well.
My question is, what is the best way to handle this situation with Paypal?, they are holding the monetary amount until there's a resolution...Like I said, this never happened to me before and it is a very dishonest action on the Buyers side.
Unfortunately, this experience has left me a real bad taste and I'm not longer going to sell items on Ebay.
Any comments or advice is greatly appreciated....
