Sega Saturn freezes

I have a model 2 Saturn and I just got the game, Robotica. I play through the first four levels and then the system freezes as it's trying to load the next levels. I can use the cheat code to get to additional levels, but playing the game normally always causes the system to freeze at the same part.

Could the disc be faulty or is something wrong with the machine?

Could be the laser tracking mechanism. It could also be the disc. Try putting a CD containing a lot of songs and see if they all play. If not, then it's the Saturn.

I'm not familiar with the game, but it seems suspiciously like something wrong with the disc if it always freezes at a particular point. Is this the only game it freezes with? Before you try anything more exciting, I'd try running a CD cleaner through the Saturn, and seeing if you can see any dust/scratches on the disc.

Thanks. I'll give both of those things a shot. If nothing else, I can always pick up another copy of the game; it's only about $2.
