how many games were released (NTSC/US) for the following Sega Systems?

Sega Master System - 114?
Sega CD - 249?
Sega 32x - 36?
Sega Saturn -249?
Sega Dreamcast - 248 (set in stone says PapaStu, I agree with his opinion)

I'm just curious as to what I am getting myself into, as I am going for a complete Genesis set at the moment(I know there are 705 games, or at least I think thats the number) but am also going to be doing these at the same time.

These aren't true numbers, but a quick guess.

Saturn 250 +/-
DC 245 +/- not (counting variations) It looks like 289 with all the variants.

Master System has slightly above 100 games.
32X can't have more than 20 or 25.

Don't know if it helps but here (http://smstributes.co.uk/quick_rarity_list.asp) is a rarity list for the 114 US SMS releases. Also includes releases for the other regions in case you're looking for the complete world collection.

You're just a little high.

Official count is 248 US titles and that is including Sonic LE and Shenmue LE.

There are also 17 SAS (Sega All Stars) releases and one (NFL 2K) has a variant. 4 Hot!New! titles and three of those have variants. Finally there are also 8 NFS (Not For Sale) games that had been bundled with different Dreamcasts.

Are those variants included in the 248 titles or separate?

As people post(and agree upon a final number for each), I will update the original post to make it easier.

Anyone with definitive numbers? Or are these numbers posted the correct ones?

Seperate. There are 248 Unique titles, the rest mentioned (SAS, NFR's, Hot!New!'s) are all 'variants' on the released title.

248 is DC definitive, for unique released titles, you'll get a little argument over Sonic LE (since it wasn't sold directly in stores) and Shenmue LE, (since its just got a bonus disc, and the game is the same), but it has a separate catalog number (as does Sonic LE), so in my book its a unique title.

Where did you get 248 including Sonic LE and Shenmue LE? Sega.com had a "Dreamcast checklist" pdf years ago, and it listed 248 titles, not including Sonic Adventure LE or Shenmue LE. However, it did erroneously include Sega Swirl, so the real number should be 247 excluding the LE's, or 249 including the LE's. Unless Sega's checklist had another error I don't know about...?

Sega Swirl was included on 1 or more versions of the Dreamcast Web Browser disc. I think it should count. :p

I got 248, because I own... 248 DC games (before my previously mentioned variants). I think it was also counting a web browser disc, but I don't have a copy of that PDF anymore (though I know what you're talking about). If you want to compare that list to what i've got, i'll be glad to send you my title list.

As I said, I was talking stand alone titles that had catalog numbers. It was on a Web Browser (not all), and it was a pack in. Welcome to the slippery slope of collecting, one mans game is another mans non-game. Because if you're going to start to count Web Broswer discs, then i've got at least 4 more to add to the list.
