Were getting new carpet all throughout the house, and I found a couple old atari games, all complete. This is one of them, and I haven't ever heard of it. Another one I've never seen is Eggomaniac. The box top is beat up and torn, but otherwise it's in pretty damn good shape... what the crap is this game?

You found a complete Atari 2600 game under your carpet?

9 of them actually! No, we had to move all the furniture so it was an oportune time to clean out all the cabinets and drawers of said furniture.

I Want My Mommy.
It's a platformer, if you can call it that, there's no jumping, but you do have to get to the top of the screen and it does look just a teeny bit like Donkey Kong. There are four levels and each one has two "climb points". You have to activate each point and then go to the top level. There are bad guys that travel erratically across each level trying to whack you. Also "mommy" throws a "kiss" (it's a bouncing square) that if you grab makes you invincible for a short time, and you can smash the baddie on your level. Make it to the top with all the climb points activated and you beat the level. The first level has an apple at the top. The second level has "mommy", a hideous mutated alien being. Beat both screens and you start over again.
Silly as it sounds, I think it's a pretty good game, just not very deep. There's an import knock-off of the game as well called "Open Sesame".
Rarity wise nothing special, $5-$8 on a good day. The box is pretty hard to come by though, so if you have a complete one, that's worth quite a bit more, I'd say $20 or so.
NOTE: it's also funny and a bit ironic that you found this on Mother's Day.

Heh, I didn't find it today, found it a couple weeks ago and just now rememberd to ask about it. Once I get my scanner hooked up I can post a pic of the box. This is the text on the back:
"I WANT MY MOMMY
Poor teddy. He's had a bad dream and no he wants his mommy. How about giving him a hand? Steer him towards the magical stardust ladders. Help him avoid the nasty dream demons who try to block his path. (Mom's sending special kisses to help him out too.) Now if the little guy can just make it up a couple of big mountains, he'll get a big bear hug. A game especially for children--but the graphics are anything but kid's stuff."

I think that kinda lowball, I see it sell for $12-15 loose all the time and believe that a complete copy would fetch $35+

Ah, right... eBay. Where someone just paid $685 for a Bonk 3 CD.
Just in case anyone didn't know - when I give a price, it's a "gentleman's price". The fair value that two collectors might exchange a game for, not the price a store would sell it to you for. Not the price on eBay. So ALWAYS adjust my numbers up accordingly if those are the channels you're going through.

Funny thing is that I've been searching for this game for quite a while... it does pop up on ebay but I hate buying single carts off of ebay because of the ratio of shipping/purchase price.

I'll probably throw it up on ebay along with the 8 other complete games I found sometime in the future when I'm unlazy enough to do it.

I've been watching this game on ebay for months, maybe over a year. It rarely goes for that much if it ever does. Usually it goes for anywhere from $8-15 loose. I've never seen a complete copy up there.

There's a complete one up there right now if you're interested - at the moment it's at $5.50 with a little over a day left:

Don't sweat it... everyone does that once in a while. I have so many brain farts lately you'd think I had a head full of baked beans.
