View Full Version : So, who's still taking their Neo-Geo Pocket Color on the go?

I acquired an NGPC last month, and I've been taking it on the go on a pretty regular basis. Puzzle Link 2, Sonic (mostly the trial mode), Pac-Man, and both Metal Slugs are in my regular rotation, and one of these days, Card Fighters Clash (I've got the Capcom version) will most likely be the next game to join them.

So, I'm wondering who else plays their NGPC on the go on a regular basis. And what games do you like to bring along with you?

I do most days. I'd say the games I play the most on the way to work are Metal Slug 1st Mission, Baseball Stars Color, and Big Tournament Golf.

I have been bringing mine for the last week. Though I really need a carrying case of some sort, maybe one that hooks to my belt. I have been playing Capcom vs SNK: Cardfighters-Capcom version. If I could put it down I would play more of Match of the Millenium(sp?).

I dn't take one with me on the Go,but when I go on a trip somewhere staying overnight I take one with me..with a bunch of games...Metal Slug in it.

People/kids have seen me with it and if they ask I tell them what it is..If it's a smart ass kid say showing off his PSP...I tell him it's the "new system" out,you gotta get it.!!!.=that'll drive them nuts trying to figure out what it is:evil laugh:..

I carry it around with Fatal Fury: First Contact usually.

It usually comes with me on business trips so I have something to do on the train. Or I'll sit down the garden on the rare occasion we have some nice sunshine. I'm usually playing MotM, Gals Fighters or Last Blade. The CFC games are awesome, Sonic is great and the rest of the games on the system are generally excellent.

all my handhelds pretty much reside in my house. I will rarely take my ds out but thats about it. I tend to play them when i'm trying to fall asleep or when my friends are hogging my computers and consoles. Nothing puts you to sleep faster than trying to play dragon ball z legacy of goku 2 on GBA. That game is a piece of shit, cheap hits left and right and then you die.

Hahahaha, is it bad that I used to watch a DBZ VHS tape to fall asleep to since it was that boring?

Neo Turf Masters has given me hours of quality gaming on the toilet. Also, Metal Slug First and Second Mission get some pretty regular play here.

I don't have one at the moment but awhile back I had two and took them on the family vacation to the oregon coast for a week. Gotta love the battery life (and games!)

I get the same reaction with my TurboExpress. One girl at a party said "Wow, that looks like a video game from the sixties!"

My other favorite comment I got while playing Galaga 90... "That's that game they have at all the laundromats!"

Thought I'd bump this thread since I still play my NGPC on the go every now and then. Played Neo Turf Masters on the bus last night and Fatal Fury: First Contact a few days back.

I don't tend to take my non-backlit systems out with me anymore. Just found too many situations where I can't see the screen well enough.

I do bring around my Gameboy Light quite a bit though. Funny to see some of the reactions I get :-)

For the person who is looking for a case, I use a Gameboy Advance pouch. It works pretty nicely on my NGPC. I am also able to stuff about 10 games into the front pouch and the main compartment with my NGPC. Here is a picture of what it looks like, though I don't have the Pink one. Mine is black and gray:

On another note: I always wanted a worm light for the NGPC. Does anyone know if Nyko made one?

A little off-topic, but I've been wanting to get a Neo Geo Pocket Color for Sonic Pocket Adventure, Match of the Millenium, Metal Slug, and Card Fighters Clash.

Does anyone here know where I could get a Neo Geo Pocket Color for a reasonable price?

Ebay. You just have to be patient.

Yes, Nyko made a worm light. However, it requires you use the included rechargable battery pack+charger with it. There is also the Sunlight by Madcow that runs off the link cable connector, but it's much harder to come by, and I would guess it's pretty dim. I haven't opened mine to try it out.

I just acquired one along with King of Fighters R-2, Samurai Shodown 2, SNK Vs. Capcom: Card Fighters Clash - Capcom Supporter Version, and Metal Slug: 2nd Mission last year. It's my first system not made by a mainstream console maker. I'm pretty darn satisfied, but kind of annoyed at how hard games are to come by in the wild.

I just got my Neo Geo Pocket Color today! (Thanks to Manhattan Sports Club), so who knows, after I pick up a couple more games this could become a regular system for me. (:

If I'm going to pull out a portable, I'll bring my Gizmondo along. Just to see how people react to this unknown device I'm playing with.
