Ranting time...

Wow, MS. Can we say "rip-off"?

Anyone can go buy this game for either the ps2 or original Xbox, for $5, still shrinkwrapped.

And honestly, that's how much the game is worth. The controls are horrid, even compared to the original Inty's disc, and they only included a few of Inty's A+ titles - the rest are crap.

I wouldn't buy this, even at 800 points. 400, yes. But no higher.

I'll probably buy it for the convenience factor of not having to get the disc out when I only want to play a quick round or two of a game.

For the simpler titles that didn't require much use of the keypad, its not that bad. I wonder if Atari Anthology will be next? Atari has stuff up for the Xbox Originals already.

I bought this for $9.99 (PS2 version) years ago. I don't think I've even played it more than a few minutes. 1200 points is a joke...yet right in line with the other "Xbox Originals". This isn't a XBLA game...so 400 or 800 points doesn't apply. Anyway, MS should realize their Xbox Originals pricing structure is flawed when only 7 people download it.

The only thing this title is good for, if you have a "physical copy", is to get it signed by the blue sky rangers :)

Other than that, this comp blows due to frustrating control scheme

BTW what ever happened to the Intellivision Comp coming to the DS? This one actually played well the last time I saw it(years ago at CGE)

you could probably score an actual intellivision for about $12 ;). INTV Games are dirt cheap too. Even the more expensive sought after games can be had cheap. I got thunder castle for under $10 without having to look too hard. Plus you get the advantage of authentic disk based control.

I bought a physical copy of this for xbox for $4.99.

I only wanted it so my wife could play Utopia. Because of the controllers, the game is completely unplayable. We tried to play it once, got frustrated and shut it off. It hasn't been touched since.

Unless it were to somehow come with an INTV controller, 1200 pts is ridiculous.

I still suggest you get a cheap copy somewhere and try it out. I've heard some really bad things about this package... enough to keep me away from it.

I own the Xbox and GCN version, lol. I think it handles things like Triple Action Biplanes well, it only sucks for things like Utopia. Only want it for the convenience factor, always having biplanes available, and supporting the Blue Sky Rangers and hoping it helps get the DS version published.

Ummm, I already own it. I bought it 2 months ago.

For $5.

Your pwnage kinda backfired. My point is why would anyone wanna pay $15 for a game they can get in most any stores bargain bin? This should've been an arcade release - not a full priced Xbox Originals release.

Yeah, I was psyched to get the disc awhile back to play with an old-school friend, but pretty much every game is unplayable due to the controls.

Best solution:

1. Mod XBox.
2. Install BlissX.
3. Awesome.

the only game on Intellivision Live worth playing is Astromash

I'd say theres a lot more than that, the emulation isn't that bad.

Pretty much every game that didn't use the keypad for gameplay that doesn't suck on a original Intellivision is fun here. Some things like Shark! Shark! and your Astromash example are as much fun as they ever were.

Of course that rules out about 80% or so of the lineup probably, but for the 2-3 bucks GS is charging for this, its not bad. And the two included bonus videos are decent (Though the music is so loud its hard to hear the narration and interviews on both the Xbox and GCN versions). Also a few commercials, though I've never gotten around to unlocking them.

None of us go into something like Atari Anthology expecting Super Breakout to play beautifully on a analog joystick, so I'm surprised this game is penalized for a similar difficiency. Though I wonder to this day why they just didn't kill the keypad idea completely outside of the menus and things like Royal Dealer, and map every control you use in gameplay to the buttons (Enough buttons on modern controllers to do it for most of the titles).

And its just nice to have Biplanes available for multiplayer action (One of the best multiplayer console titles ever in my opinion) without fear the person your playing with will damage your 25 year old Intellivision controller. Worth it for that alone, imo.
