The Wii is not an HDTV device, but it can support a progressive scan resolution, component video input, and anamorphic widescreen. That means that the ideal display device would have a resolution of 720x480, be able to run at 60fps and support a component video input.

Is there a TV that can do all three things? It must be a widescreen device in the 16:9 ratio. However, it also must support 720x480 using non-square pixels (since the Wii supports anamorphic widescreen.) Many widescreen tubes can support 720x480, but can only do so in an interlaced fashion. Some LCD TVs may be able support that, but LCDs do not do non-square pixels and tend not to be above 21". EDTV Plasma may be the best bet.
