My favorite finds from Japan are the little dioramas I found. I bought a whole box of the Namco ones to collect all six.

I'd love to find some more of these SMB stage dioramas. If you know any store that has them in stock, please let me know! I'm also willing to trade my extra Namco dioramas for them.

I also bought some NES character pegboard things. I might end up trading these though--I don't have room on my shelf for all this stuff! :)

But you didn't think I wouldn't come out of Japan without any games, did you? Here's what I picked up.

Final Fantasy VI- 1500 Yen, I think.

Congrats! Those have been one of my favorite game collectibles I've seen in a long time. Sadly I haven't actually bought any because I haven't found any. You'd think in an area with such a large Asian population (and plenty of random box Japanese collectibles) I'd come across them by now. LOL

I would LOVE to have a spare Mappy diorama. I love the game.

I have never seen or even head of video game dioramas before, but those look great!

Also, nice find on the games, including The Legend of Zelda for only 300 yen! That's right in my price range. I guess there are still deals to be had, even in Japan.

There are many more deals to be had in Japan than in the states, just because of the number of games that are still CIB. I used to think getting a big SFC collection would be impossible, but most of the games can be had CIB for under 1000 yen ($10). The Legend of Zelda was a pretty good deal, though. Super Potato wanted 3400 for it, but it came with the manual. I got mine at Hard Off Book Off for, but it's just the case and the disk.

EDIT: The one game I wanted but passed on was Mr. Do for SFC. Super Potato wanted $40 for it, and while it may be worth that much, I didn't feel like spending that much on one game.

Here's a video of the sounds they make when you push the button on the base.
