A friend of mine recently gave me a copy of this game.

My old-style PSX is not modded in any way. It won't play the game, only the soundtrack. This comes as no surprise, but now I have a question.

What's the cheapest way for me to get this thing to run? A boot disk? A chip? I'm not one for CD-r's, but that's the only way this thing comes. I got it free, and my friend says it's the complete and uncensored version, but I don't want to spend a whole lot of cash on this...

Any suggestions?

Cheapest? The cheapest way is to buy a modchip and install it yourself.

The cheapest way is to get a hold of one of the first rev Playstations and use the swap method.

What you have to do is get button that tells the machine that the lid is closed to stay down. (I put a tiny piece of duct tape over it and then closed it so it stayed down) Then you put in a release game and wait for the first logo to come up and while the disc is spinning, pull out the game and put in the copy of Thrill Kill. If you do it right the second PS logo will come up and your game will boot.

The Playstation has to be one from the first 6 months of release.

Alternatively you could try out a PSX emulator if your PC is upto the job and you don't mind getting your hands dirty with files and folders!! I found ePSXe (http://www.epsxe.com/) to be the best one for Thrill Kill and most other PSX titles.

I use PS-X-Change 2. It is a boot disc that you put in your Playstation, then switch it out to play a(an) import/copied game. It also includes a menu to put in GameShark codes. I spent about $20 to get mine. I don't think it will work on a Playstation 2, however.

You're right, it doesn't.
