Import Tariffs

So a friend of mine recently moved to japan and i was thinking of importing a bunch of japanese games/consoles. My question is when trying to research this i run into the matter of paying a tariff. How exactly do i go about paying a tariff or for that matter calculating WHAT should be paid on a bunch of "old junk" essentially. Any one have any experience dealing with import regulations on this kind of thing?

From what I have experienced, my imports from Japan ALWAYS arrive overseas in Canada before being rerouted to me. I'm guessing they don't have as high tariffs....

I've received plenty of stuff from Japan, and none of it required me to pay any import fees or tariffs.
Lucky for you, most stuff is routed to the Kennedy airport in NY, so you should not have to wait that long for it.
