I've never seen a cheating device for the Famicom, do any even exist? I'm guessing there wasn't much of a demand.

They defintly exist. Might be hard to find on eBay but I've seen some on YHJ.

If you don't want to buy one you could hack certain games and actually create game genie codes for FC games since they use the same coding.
There are several Game Genie-type devices. There is, however, an actual Game Genie for the Famicom, released by Realtec, which is found in Taiwan and S. America, mostly. I've got one, but haven't found it complete, with the code book.
