Interesting discovery, there was going to be another Kirby game on the SNES, developed by DMA Design, who also made Uniracers.

It got canceled because Nintendo decided it wasn't good enough for release.

The title of the game is kind of confusing. Isn't Kirby already a kid because he's a Meta-Knight in training?

Ugh, that sprite of Kirby looks disgusting. I'm gonna go with the stance that Western-style graphics don't work whatsoever with the Kirby style. Nintendo made a wise choice keeping Kirby in the hands of Japanese developers.

Yeah, and what is up with that curlicue that they gave him?

They CAN work.

They just needed a better sprite artist. Someone who can do cute.

Edit:
The LostLevels forum thread has a scan of an old issue of Club Nintendo which had a small paragraph related to Kid Kirby. I translated the text:

"Something strange happened with Nintendo's titles in the Show. Comanche was postponed, but it was on display (at the show). However, Kid Kirby, which seems to use ACM technology was also postponed at the last minute - which was surprising because the game store demos were already completed / ready."

Dreamland 3 was 1 of the last SNES games ever released, wasn't it?

It WAS the last SNES game to be released.

Wow, I wonder if anyone will ever find a prototype...
