alright i just picked up the metal gear solid esential collection for 30 bucks and noticed that none of the games have their subtitles. are there any major differences between the box set versions and the regular editions? i already have a copy of snake eater and was hoping to trade it in now, but if there are some cool features that the box set might not have, i probably wont want to give it up.

i'm not an expert on this - but my understanding is that they are exactly like the original versions (i.e. not the substance or subsistence versions).

There's Snake Eater, which you have and want to get rid of.
There's Subsistence, which has everything from Snaker Eater along with a new camera, a second disc (Persistence) with some parody videos and both MSX Metal Gear games on it.
There's the Subsistence Limited Edition, which has both discs from Subsistence in the normal Subsistence case along with a third disc, "Persistence" in a second case, all held together by a special cardboard box.
Then there's the Essentials Subsistence, which is just disc 1 of Subsistence.
Far more detail available at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Gear_Solid_3:_Snake_Eater) if you're hungry for more.

Um. What? I doubt Konami actually went through the trouble of removing the subtitles... I mean, they didn't even fucking bother to remove the MGO content in Subsistence Disc 2 just so they could include it.

There's also the stock holder's edition which was a japanese version which was given to uh...konami stockholders, should be the same as the first edition of snake eater.

i wish the stock holder's edition cover was the cover for MS3 in te USA.
Also there is 2 other variants. 1 being A box set, with a shirt,game,etc.... Also the 2nd being that it also comes in a box set, this includes: The game, and a MGS3 Headset for online play.. The headset is smiliar to the PS2 headset that logictech made.. I will post more if I find more variants.
