I've been so bored with my games lately. I'm grounded from going out with so i need a game to keep me amused. The only problem I have is i can't find a good, long chalenging game so if anyone has any suggestions on what game or games i should buy next, I'd love to hear them, anything for DS, PSP, PS2, Gamecube, or N64. I'm willing to try just about anything so please help me before i go insane with boredom. Thanks for reading

Buy a new console. All that stuff is outdated by now. I know we're all classic gamers at heart here, but you should seriously experience what the new machines are doing. I bought an Xbox 360 last year after having previously sworn off modern gaming entirely. Needless to say, that machine and Bioshock made me a believer again. Exciting things are happening now, but the last generation sucked (I really believe that wholeheartedly). Save some $ and come join everybody else on Xbox live or PSN.

I know i should but i got fired from a job recently so moneys a bit tight and my brother won't let me use his 360 so i figure until i get some money ill just stick with the systems i have and look for some entertaining games for those. But like I already said good games are hard to find. I mean i already beat the Metal gear again and again, I've only got Final Fantasy 10, which i bet a couple times over 10 2 which was horribe, and I honestly didn't care for 12 at all. And kingdom hearts i beat again and again 1 & 2. And the Jak and daxter games, way to easy all four of them...Sorry all done rambling. So any way I'm bored with everything I've got and I can't find anything better. :sob:

Well, I'm guessing you have a PC. There's thousands of games on that console alone. :p

Try Disgaea on PS2, just went "player's choice" so should be cheap and easy to find.

Hmmm... so you want to know what the best games are for those systems eh? Well, you're in luck as we have several long-running threads on just the subject in our "Timeless Classics" forum. Here you go:
Nintendo DS Portable Favorites (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110410&highlight=nintendo)
Sony PSP Portable Favorites (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=110408&highlight=sony)
Sony Playstation 2 (PS2) Favorites (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4764&highlight=sony)
Nintendo Gamecube Favorites (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5195&highlight=gamecube)
Top 25 Nintendo 64 (N64) games (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1493&highlight=nintendo)
First, look over these threads. Each one contains the top games for each system as dicussed and voted on by the members here. Don't recognize a game? I suggest going to Google, typing it in, and seeing what the game is like rather than asking for descriptions of 50+ games.
Anytime you want to know what the best games are for pretty much any system EVER, the Timeless Classics forum is the place to go.

RF Online. Decent MMO, free, cash shop if you really want it, but there's nothing worth buying. Best FREE MMO out there in my opinion, unless you call PSO an MMO. Seriously, if you're bored with gaming, pick up an MMO.

Do you have Ocarina of Time for n64? If not, give it a try. It's by far one of my favorite games on the console and it will keep you busy for a while.

I agree (about this being in another forum). Since he's talking mostly about modern games, I'll move it to modern gaming.

Not sure what type of game you're after, but if you want relatively lengthy experiences you should at least check out the following:
PC:
Deus Ex(everyone needs to play through this masterpiece as least once)
System Shock II
Some old point'n'click adventure games are guaranteed to keep you busy for a while, like Monkey Island, Loom, The Dig, Simon the Sorcerer etc.
Disciples II (turn based strategy)
PS2:
Shadow of the Colossus
ICO
Gamecube:
Killer 7
Eternal Darkness
Metroid Prime
Resident Evil 4
PSP:
Monster Hunter
Final Fantasy Crisis Core
...just off the top of my head

I would say in my personal opinion to go the opposite, and purchase an *older* console. Nothing beats the boredom than a good round on a NES, SMS or TG16! Ehh...but we are in "Modern Gaming"..so..
Still a thought however!

On PS2 you can't go wrong with Champions of Norrath or Champions: Return to Arms.
But I do think that an older console would be a great idea-lots of stuff available and not terribly expensive, either.

Go to one of the popular Abandonware (http://www.abandonia.com) sites (http://www.the-underdogs.info/) and call me in ten years when you've played all of those.

This sounds like you need a good RPG and I would suggest Persona 3 FES for PS2. Not only is the game amazing "The Journey" has a good 80+ hours of good gameplay and "The Answer" has about 30 hours. There's also a bonus if you like the game, Persona 4 comes out December 9th and will only be $40 so you would have another new game not that long from now.
Here is a list of all the RPGs for PS2, so you could also just close your eyes and pick from here and one of these should keep you busy for a little while.

Do your homework. That way you won't get your ass grounded again.
Alternatively - sign up for Gametap and play Fallout.

Or on the computer, play one after the other Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II (with expansion pack), Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights (and its two expansion packs and official modules). By the time you're done with all of these games, you probably will no longer be grounded.

You also might want to try out Might and Magic VI. Its an older title, but it will take a long time to finish and the game is extremely fun

Bethesda released the first Elder Scrolls game, Arena, for free a while back. It seems to run fine in DosBox. Anything in the Elder Scrolls series is expansive enough that you can have your own little adventures within the game. If you want to get "long" gameplay, look for something like that where YOU make your adventure, not let the narrative do it for you. Kinda like the difference playing through a game and taking part in a tabletop RPG.

You absolutely MUST play Persona 3 for the PS2. The updated version, FES, is the recommended version.
It's an RPG that took me 48 hours to beat on my first playthrough, and I loved every bit of it.
