Ok, can someone give me a rough estimate on how much this game is worth. This is the rare version made by Atari and not by TNT. Its listed on this site as R10 for rarity. I currently have a magazine called Video Game Collector and it lists it as $700 with a green arrow up(Value is increasing). This is the cartidge only but is in MINT condition. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks.

By the way, the $700 price listed in the Video Game Collector magazine that you are referencing is in the "complete in box" category -- the current "cartridge only" price is listed as $400.

Ok, thank you for the quick reply. I have an OLD issue of this magazine and its from 2006. It lists it as complete for $750 and cartidge only for $400. Wasnt sure if the value went up anymore...

There is a red label PAL version of this game that is much cheaper. Just a heads up, make sure that you have the NTSC version when trying to value your cart.

Is there a rough estimate on the number of NTSC Atari red box versions that have been found? I've seen PAL ones, but never an NTSC although I know a few people who say they have one. Is this going to be like Ikari and Motorodeo where hundreds are found in a South American warehouse?

Here's one:

Don't know the exact number known to exist though.
Perhaps it's more or less the same as the number of NTSC Asterix carts:

Yeah that makes no sense either. No one does a run of 10-15 carts on ROM chips, the cost would be insane and it doesn't make any sense. My theory on NTSC Asterix is that it was intended for the Canadian market just like Obelix but for some reason was never widely distributed. Maybe they're all sitting in some Canadian warehouse somewhere?
Then again, just because there were hundreds produced doesn't mean they still exist. They could have all been recalled and destroyed for some reason.

Maybe they figured out a way to determine if a system was a PAL or NTSC and so the carts are identical, but they labeled the boxes anyway? Long shot crazy theory...

I would vote that there still in a warehouse or destroyed. We've all heard the story that topps dumped loads of 52 high #s in the ocean among many others. Maybe one day they will be found.
