Of the titles relased in the U.S. by Enix, which one or ones were your favorites?
(I hope I didn't miss any.)

I've heard some people deride Illusion of Gaia, but it's one of my favorite 16-bit action/RPGs. The combat-based gameplay was a refreshing change from puzzle-solving, and the haunted ancient settings and Age-of-Exploration trappings gave it a unique atmosphere. Even the little big-headed characters were endearing in a Charlie Brown sort of way.
Kaine, I think you forgot Paladin's Quest, though that's perfectly understandable.

Illusion of Gaia was my second fav though. It did have a few confusing and nonlogical puzzles to hamper your path, and it's very linear even for a RPG. That's probably who people hates 'em so much, they don't have the original manual that contains a full walkthrough spoiler.

The hardest part in Illusion of Gaia is at the great wall of china, where you get the crazy tornado spin move. It's VERY hard without the manual or a strategy guide to pull it off successfully.

I'll bet I'm the only person that ever votes Robotrek in this poll....

Darnit, and I've played Paladin's Quest also! Did anyone like PQ? Graphics reminded me of Playschool stuff myself.
(Added it to the poll)
Out of all of them I think my favs are Actraiser 1, Illusion of Gaia and E.V.O.

I thought that Actraiser was nice, but Robotek just felt nice. A few games are missing otherwise I'd have voted for them instead.

Wasn't 7th Saga ENIX?
Anyway, I am happy to say I own all those games, but haven't gotten around to playing them yet. But I am looking forward to the day I do. I just know I will love these games.

Wasn't 7th Saga ENIX?
Same feeling here, 7th Saga was published by Enix in both US and Japan (where the game was called Elnard).

Why US only? I'd vote for Terranigma in an instant.

Here's another vote for Actraiser. It's too bad that the sequel wasn't as good as the first.

What about Star Ocean, Dragon Quest V, and Dragon Quest VI?
Of the choices given, I'll say Illusion of Gaia, although I love EVO and Act Raiser a lot.
In fact, why no votes for EVO? That was a sleeper classic.

US releases...I'd have to say Illusion of Gaia. Robotrek wasn't far behind, though. Worldwide? Now you have me thinking among Dragon Quest V, Star Ocean, and Terranigma...

E.V.O and Actraiser are my favorites, while Illusion of Gaia is my least. I prefer Soulblazer and Terranigma to it.
I am probably one of the few people who actually liked Actrasier 2 - I even managed to beat it :) .
Paladin's Quest had unique music, why no love

Ogre Battle definitely needs to be a part of this poll. Although it wouldn't have changed my vote. Soulblazer is one of my 5 favorite SNES games.

I'm currently playing Soul Blazer and loving it. However, I did play Illusion of Gaia years ago. Game rocked. I bought it at Best Buy for $20 back in 1996. Ah, good game and good times. The Great Wall of China was TOUGH!! Between Soul Blazer and Illlusuion of Gaia, it's hard for me to choose. I still haven't even played my copies of ActRaiser or ActRaiser 2.
I'll have to go with Illusion of Gaia. I have very fond memeorys of that game and ironicly I just started playing it again.
Good times.

I can't believe so many people think that the Great Wall was the most difficult part of Illusion of Gaia. As long as you go through and clear out all the areas it's a snap. Also Gaia explains how to perform your special powers when they are obtained.
Now, Mt. Kress - that was the hardest part of the game.

You know, Enix had a lot of US releases, and it still angers me to this day that Dragon Warrior 5 and 6 were not released here, especially after all 4 of the NES titles made it over.
I voted for Illusion of Gaia, which is a great game.

I voted Illusion of Gaia, it is the best game of those..
But where the hell is Dragon Quest games?
Like:
Dragon Quest III (remake)
Dragon Quest V
Dragon Quest VI
I think that everyone has tested these games at least
with emulators and english text's..
But if this was just for Us released games, then there
is no problems at all.. ^.^
(Sorry about bad english.. -.-)

My vote is for E.V.O., as the game is very innovative. It combines an action-adventure platformer with an RPG. You start as a simple fish and use experience points to evolve into more and more complicated creatures... the most evolved form is of course a human, but it isn't the best form. There are hidden evolved forms such as a very powerful flying dragon, a mermaid, etc.
Most people have not played this gem, mostly because it is so different.

E.V.O. is one of my favorite games. I like the fact that you can decide how to play, by evolving what you want. You want to have a powerful jaw ? Ok, you have it. But you must also think about your protection and how fast you can move. You cannot always have all the best parts at the same time and a choice must be made. And I also love the graphics !
One of the reasons people have not played it is that the game was not very common, at least in my area. There was only one place that I was able to rent it (in 1996), and now I only saw 2 copies of it "in the wild" in many years of searching. Luckily I have one of those 2 :)

I received EVO in the mail about 3 weeks ago -- friend sent it to me for free, along with Megaman Soccer :D

Where's 7th Saga, just out of curiosity? It's Enix, it's for the SNES, and it was released here. (The developers, led by writer/programmer Shinji Imada, went on to create Brainlord one year later.)

Soul Blazer. (Dodges produce) I didn't enjoy Illusion of Gaia as much as this game. This is actually one of my all-time favorite games. I don't usually like full-on RPGs, so this one is right up my alley.
