Is it safe to use a Sega Genesis Model 1 AC adapter with a TG-16?

Hello fellow Digital Pressers!

I have a pretty simple question. I think I accidentally fried my TG-16's AC adapter when I attached it to my digital capture device a few weeks back [either that or it died on it's own]. Now it won't power up my TG-16 at all and when I was looking through and testing other power adapters with my TG-16 I found that my Sega Genesis Model 1's adapter powers up my TG-16 just fine. This is all fine and dandy for it confirms there is nothing wrong with the console itself but I noticed that the Genesis adapter does have slightly different voltage than the TG-16 one does and I don't want accidentally fry my system's boards down the line by continuing to use it with the wrong adapter. It is okay for me to continue using my Sega Genesis' adapter or would it better that I just run to Radioshack and grab a universal AC adapter [I already tried running to the Digital Press store to find a TG-16 adapter but they sadly did not have one]?

The TG-16 AC adapter's voltage:

Input-120VAC 60hz 15W
Output-10.5VDC 730mA

The Genesis Model 1 AC adapter's voltage:

Input-120V 60Hz 17W
Output-9V DC 1.2A

Do the TG-16's have rectifiers in them?

PS: What's the polarity marker on them? Must know that, that's the most important.

Both are negative polarity.

That's what the rectifiers would be for. The higher amperage could easily substitute the slightly lower voltage.

Besides, internally, it uses what, 5v? Most likely, so it should be fine then. AS LONG AS it has rectifiers, which is very highly likely.

it uses the super common 7805 voltage regulator. the minimum input voltage for it to give a stable 5 volts is 7.5V iirc. it will not hurt the console to use a higher amperage power supply either cause a circuit only draws as many amps as it needs.

I am not that familiar with voltage jargon. How can I identify the polarity marker on the adapters? The only pieces of information on them that I can identify is that input and outputs [unless those small + and - circles are suppose to be the polarity markers].

Both are negative, as I mentioned above.

The diagram tells you if the negative polarity is inside the tip or outside. In this case, it says it's inside.
