I've always wanted to know if you can create your own codes for the Action Replay fo rthe Sega Saturn. I have a few games I'd like to try with it but have found no premade codes for them online. Is there any program out there I can use to create my own codes?

Datel / Interact released a motherboard and cable with CDR program you would toss into an old Win95 machine to allow code hacking. Having worked at GS, I can tell you the hacking process was a LOT of trial and error.

Have you checked cmgsccc.com? They usually did a lot of saturn stuff.

Yeah, thats the first place I looked. They have codes for one of the games I was looking for but not the other one :(

I'd love to know how to get/use the program you speak of. I have the Action Replay itself for the Saturn and it has a large PC port on top. I heard they were supposed to release a PC Comms package for it. Is this what you are talking about or something totally different?

Nope, the PC Comms is exactly what I'm talking about.

There was also a cheat device (versions exist for Saturn and PSX) called the X-Terminator, which had a small "controller" with an LCD screen that could attach to a similar port on the X-Terminator cartridge. This meant no need for a PC, ISA cards, or software. The game could be halted and codes searched for through the little controller.

I managed to make several codes for my Saturn games with the X-T (until my X-T somehow got fried. :grrr: ) so I'd recommend looking around for X-Terminator cheat devices.

I finally found info on the X-Terminator as it seems like a really cool device. I only found info. on the Japanese versions so I'm assuming it never came out here "officially", correct?

The only problem with both of these devices is that they seem REALLY hard to find! Dammit, all I want is codes for 2 games! lol

Hopefully one of the two games is Panzer Dragoon Saga. God I wish they had made codes for that game. Not that I need them... I have beat PDS several times, but I want to play through it uber bas @$$ from the start! LOL

I have a PC Comms card in my xp box and working.
I use it to make codes for psx and saturn games.
its great for archiving games saves also.

Old funny story.
Back in the day my friend and i would hack games for fun.
The best one was some burning rangers codes that showed you saved every possible person(maybe more than normally accessible?). I ended up post the games save on a netlink board.
I got an email from a guy a few weeks later telling what he had to do to hunt me and get my email address to find out how i found every one claiming it was next to impossible.

Maybe some saturn emulators support a code search option.
I know most other emulators do and work with a real action replay.
I have done this to make codes for other systems to play them on original hardware.
