I just posted on my site with the magazine scan, as I just found out (so excited!) that there is a remake of the PS1 classic Klonoa Door to Phantomile coming to Wii! I am willing to import a Wii to play this...cant wait.

I guess they ran out of last-gen games to port, so they have to go back to the 32-bit days?

Yeah, I'm surprised they didn't try to make a new game? Klonoa 3 would have been pretty cool... though I never did get a chance to play the first one! Probably along with many others, since it was such a sleeper. Interesting.

I hope this comes out here - with the original being overpriced, I look forward to this remake.

First NiGHTS, The House of the Dead, and Mega Man 9...and now Klonoa? When will Nintendo stop ignoring hard-core gamers? :)

Well, Nintendo didn't make any of those games, so...

Neat! Though, I have a feeling it might end up a sleeper like the others. I always liked Klonoa's design elements and found the games quite enjoyable. Especially 2. It was part of what sold me on the PS2.

I nearly lost my breath after getting the news today! @_@
If Namco can make it as amazing as the original, I'm all up for getting it. But, seeing as both Klonoa games were sleepers here in the states, I doubt we'll get this remake.
They would certianly be crazy not to release it to today's crowd, though. ;)

That's more of a... frowny?

Anyway, I hope this makes it over here. I've never played either game, but they look excellent. I want to start with the first but it's pretty tough to track down. This would solve that problem!

Heres an update, thanks to one of my readers he sent me a link to a video which contains a couple of seconds of footage from the fall press conference, its just about halfway through the video:

I think I might import a Wii from play asia before december and order this....even if it comes out in the US I will have a JP Wii for all those other games in the video which obviously all won't ever be coming here.

I think it has a possibility of coming out here. Maybe just in a lower print run...and later.

Side note: Does anyone know of a listing of the games shown in that video? (in order preferably..) I know theres alot of conference coverage around but I haven't been able to find a list yet.

I nearly lost my breath after getting the news today!

That was the same way I felt. I can't wait, I've only played two of the Klonoa games but I LOVED both and hope it gets released in the U.S.
