Found PS2 Raiden III at Blockbuster yesterday, never seen it anywhere before. Tag said $15, was told it was 50% off at the register.
Doesnt show up in the DP Rarity Guide. How'd I do?

Not bad. I wouldn't say it's a rare game, but it's pretty uncommon.

I can walk into my Best Buy and buy a few of them in their 20 buck and under section of PS2/Cube/XBox titles fixture that gets moved about the store.
It's not really rare, but it's not uber common.

I doubt it had a normal print run, it was kind of an also-ran that squeeked past sony certification and out the door. It's kind of a crappy port too.

I get them in the store every once in awhile, the latest one this past Friday. I sell them for $12.99. It's not rare but it's not common. Sounds like you got it for a good price!

About a month after this game was released, Walmart picked it up and sold it at all their retail locations. I have no idea what their minimum order quantity is, but I'm sure the fact that it was distributed to over 3800 stores eliminates any sort rarity talk.
Anyway...it's a fun shooter. Worth the $14.99 it originally retailed for.

IIRC, it was $30 MSRP when it came out, though Wal-Mart always sold it for $20.

Is this game supposed to have the DVD-ROM "misprint"?
The copy that I got from Blockbuster has the DVD logo printed on the case and disc label, but the actual disc is a CD-ROM.

Heh, I didn't notice that, but sure enough, the case and disc say that the game's a DVD-ROM. LOL I doubt this game has received more than one printing, so it's probably a safe bet that the misprint is on every copy out there.
