It's about the colours. I've seen dark grey/light grey models and I've seen red/light grey models (eg: mine). Can anyone clear this up for me? Thanks.

BTW, I have a grey/orange zapper.

The two tone gray Zapper was the first version; they changed it to the red/orange version to address safety concerns. Same reason the GunCon is bright orange, Justifiers are blue / pink, etc.

As in, a kid taking his Duck Hunt simulations to the extreme and pointing one at a cop, then getting fired upon. All toy guns today are required by law I believe to have some red cap on the nozzle or other colorful distinguishers.
