I just got the U.K. special edition of Silent Hill 2, and am very eager to give it some play.
Except, I have heard there are issues with PAL save data on American memory cards. Is this true, or can I mix all saves without a problem?
Thanks! :)

American and Europe saves can coexist on one card, but a Japanese game will try and format the memory card.

That's odd.....
My Japanese games never tried to format over my American saves. They are all together.
I just worry about the PAL games trying to overwrite my other saves, as I have never used a PAL game before.

No issues with PAL and US saves on the same card, have a mixture of titles for my chipped PS2.

Well, thanks for letting me know. :)

Actually for a moment I was gonna say "no" and then I remember I've got the Japanese Taito Memories collections, so yes, Japanese saves on there too.

The early japanese SCPH-1000x models will try to format the card, it has nothing to do with the games themselves. Sony changed the storage format between the Japanese and US launches. The later Japanese systems can support either save format while the earlier systems want to format the card.
You can play japanes games on a US system without any trouble.
