Quick question about Baldur's Gate...

I recently started to play Baldur's Gate for PC (believe it or not, I had never played it before) and maybe this is a very stupid question but...

...How could I rest? I mean, I can rest perfectly inside a tabern or something like that, but I couldn´t find the option or key combination to do it on an open field.

I remember playing Icewind Dale and that option were in the character´s menu, but, where is here?

Please help!

That game was fun...until for some reason the only cleric in the game decided to leave my party. Tried saving and reloading, but something was making her mad, and I could never figure out what it was. Never went back to try to finish it; that was too frustrating.
