Halo 3 Legendary Edition FREE at GAMESTOP!!

According to my GS manager, the corporate brass has decided that the Legendary Editions are taking up too much space, so the store managers have been told to remove the games from the packaging and throw the rest away! Helmet included! So when I was in there he gave me two free helmets (for my kids) and was going to give away the rest as soon as possible.

Again, the game itself is not included, just the extras and packaging. So, if you've wanted the helmet, try your local GS as you might get lucky too!

Are you sure this isn't discretionary? Two of the three Gamestops I went to had gutted the boxes and put the game out with the other normal copies but are keeping the box and helmet out on the floor to give to people who buy the game.

I am sure the managers are free to do with them as they please, but the one by me told me "I'm just going to give them away and if I have any left, they're going in the dumpster." Then he gave me two.

Yep, I agree. I'm done with "limiteds" unless I find them at a used store for a decent price.

Hehe, I know a fella who bought five of these on release day for full price. He was never able to ebay any of the four extras for the price he wanted of course. :beaten:

If it were me, I would've reduced the price to something reasonable to shift them. I am sure they would sell at the same price as a standard copy. Failing that, I would've simply taken them all home with me and either kept them myself or sold them on eBay

Over this past weekend I picked up the helmet only from my local Gamestop. I normally would want the complete set with game and box, but because it's free I don't really care. Plus, it looks pretty cool on top of my TV. :P

Dude, I bought a brand new one that included shipping from amazon for $50.

Unfortunately, I checked about 30 seconds ago and I am pretty sure that I bought the last one.

personally i will never buy a Microsoft collectors edition again, unless i know release numbers, and its not more than 20% over the normal price.

The Futureshop here has over 50 Legendary editions just hogging up space on shelves. They are now cheaper than the regular editions and still nobody buys them.

That's absolutely ridiculous, considering the reason they are doing this is because they take up too much space and they could use that for the holiday season.
