I haven't seen anything else about this, but I was just randonly looking around my e-mails and saw this.
Yeah, awesome. I haven't bought a DS game in awhile, so I will probably get this one.

I hated the game for the PC so I can't envision this being all that great. The sad thing is, I really wanted to like it but never could force myself to and just gave up on it.

I loved the Genesis version. It was one of my favorite games back in the day. The one thing I didn't like about it though was that it was incredibly awkward to play with the control pad. The DS should make it way easier to control. Can't wait to play it.
Too bad it doesn't have WiFi play though. Online 1-on-1 games would have been great.

Me too. I played the hell out of it when it first came out (1990 or 91?). This DS version looks interesting, mainly because of the touch screen/stylus control scheme.

I, Too, played the crap out of the Genny version back in the day. The limited view really bothered me at first but I got used to it. I loved taking a good look at the enemy and finding a fantastic spot to lay down a nice VOLCANO.
I'm pretty excited about the DS version, I hope they don't get too cartoony with it.

I was amazed to find out, via that Gamestop link, that they're still shitting out Army Men games. :eek 2:

"The most popular and classic maps from previous editions" -- lame. Surely they could fit the entirety of the original and its two expansions on a DS card.

I remember this game from SNES way back in the day. One of my neighbors had it. I used to play the hell out of populous on SNES and loved it.

The SNES version was MUCH slower than the Genesis version. The Genesis version was the only non-sport Genesis/SNES cross-platform game that I preferred on the Genesis. If the DS version has the speed of the Genesis version of yesterday then I will buy it. If it sloths around like the SNES version did then I will pass on it.

The first game I got on my SNES. I played it like there was no tomorrow. I may pick this one up.

I know the SNES version gets dumped on a lot by the fanbase, but I loved the hell out of it back in the day despite its flaws. Can't wait for the DS version.

I'm cautiously optimistic for Soldiers of Misfortune. New publisher, new developer, new gameplay angle. It may turn out to be as fun as Air Attack and Army Men RTS or it may wind up being as bad as...everything else. I've got the PS2 version preordered; I don't know if I'd be able to stomach the controls on the DS or Wii :(
Plus the PS2 version is like $13 on amazon.

I played a bit on the Amiga back in the day. The cool part is that it was networkable via Nullmodem (like Knights and the Sky and Battle Chess back then). One Amiga in the bedroom, one in the living room = mini LAN party!
